Brutal.
Is it just me, or does Brutal difficulty seem to be a lot more focused on enemies and mini-bosses rather than bosses? I guess it makes sense, because bosses are, obviously, less common than the enemies, but the changes are just so drastic compared to the change from Standard to Violent.
I mean, as of this post I technically have less than 80 hours on the game, so maybe I'm not the most experienced to be saying much, but the enemies and "normal" levels feel much harder to deal with than any of the bosses. Soldiers dodging at every given opportunity and then semi-spamming their shotgun whilst taking a few hits, it just gets to a point. Filth jump, yeah, it's more annoying than anything though, they're still fodder that get annihilated by any AOE.
Sentries are mildly infuriating though. Don't target them? Free chance to lose all of your health in 2 seconds if you don't dash. Cerberus? Not too bad, but annoying, especially in closed spaces [egregious in 0-5]. Mindflayer? Annoying as they always were, but slightly more so. Malicious face? I hate it. Hate. I don't have much to say about hideous mass, besides that it made it a chore to beat 6-1.
It only took maybe six or less tries to P-rank Minos, I had more difficulty with the flesh prison itself. Gabriel is very fun. V-2 is fun. Leviathan is... Leviathan. COKM is meh. I don't have much to say about anything regarding Violence layer. P-2 and Sisyphus specifically scares me, I dunno what they did to him. Zero breathing room.
TLDR: Brutal seems to ramp up normal enemies to the max, while bosses or more or less the same, save for stat changes or projectile speeds, with the exception of Sisyphus being an egregious lad.
What do you think? Should bosses have been touched up more on, or were some enemy changes a little over the top? Or was it generally fine? I liked it, but man, the difficulty is certainly something else, and I can't wait for UKMD to do it all again.
