How (I Think) Ultrakill Will End
TL;DR - The game will end with V1's mind ascending beyond time and space to become Hell's beloved companion/champion, playing and replaying together forever.
What tipped me off was seeing Hell lament humanity's limited perception after being told NocturnOS (V1's mind) has no known limits.
I believe Hell doesn't just see V1 as a plaything, but as a potential kindred spirit; someone with the capacity to truly understand Hell like nobody else ever has. Before V1, the only being in Hell who came close was Lucifer, but Lucifer is a fundamentally kind being who very much doesn't align with Hell's upside-down morality.
V1 by comparison is like all of Hell's ideals personified. It is death without life; a being sustained by suffering. Considering how reverently Hell spoke of the Earthmovers, imagine how it must feel about V1.
All throughout the game, Hell has been feeding V1 more and more blood while showing it increasingly complicated vistas of violence all in an effort to evolve the machine's mind, and Fraud proves that it's working. V1 was able to navigate an environment that drives all mortal minds mad, then broke through its illusions and stepped off its stage. Just as the player's skill grows, so too does V1's mind. This will culminate in V1's ascension when it kills Gabriel and acquires its final arm, becoming an angel of Hell.
The Encore levels will act as the game's denouement, with the remixed layers of Hell representing how V1's perception is no-longer bound by time or space. It has at-last escape its fear of death, as a mind detached from time is a mind free from endings. Every respawn and replay becomes a diegetic part of V1's experience, and so Hell and its angel happily dance together for all eternity.
