Video editing experience is really bad in android

Just switched to Oneplus 15 from iphone 14 plus and the video editing experience is really bad in android compared to iphone, was using VN editor, vllo, instagram edits apps on ios and the experience was smooth with no lag no bugs but in android most apps I tried have so many issues, like in VN app in preview video lags in every cut in timeline and there is no way to trim video from left side of the clip in timeline, Vllo is lagging like crazy, instagram edits is also functioning on 30fps. Kinemaster works decent but it does not have keyframing feature in main clip on timeline, keyframing only works on overlays Haven't tried lumafusion, if anyone uses it please let me know how it is on android. Also Capcut works decently good but nowhere near what it used to work on ios, even on my iphone 11 all these apps work perfectly fine. Please let me know if there is any video editing apps with all the features and will work smoothly and where I can use this powerful chipset of my oneplus 15.

Music player that streams on PC

Hello everyone!

I'm mainly playing offline music on my phone, via a Bluetooth speaker, but I'd like to find a music player on Android that can stream what I listen to PC for when I'm gaming with the headphones on. Maybe there's a music player on both Android and windows that can synch between each other? I've been Googling it but I haven't found any.

I've tried the Smart Connect app that comes with Motorola phones, but it's not ok because if my phone screen shuts off I cannot control the app.

How does an app like this survive? (Status Saver/Message Catcher with NO Ads)

I recently needed an app to recover some deleted WhatsApp messages and save a few video statuses.
Every top result in the Play Store is an absolute ad-farm. You can barely click a button without a popup.

Then I found "WhatsTools AI".
It does exactly what the others do (saves status, logs notifications to see deleted chats, etc.), but it is completely free with absolutely no ads.

I've been using it for a week and it's fantastic, but my "internet street smarts" are tingling. We are so used to being monetized that finding a genuine free tool feels suspicious.

It’s free and actually respects the user. Just wanted to share since I wasted an hour trying other junk apps.

Looking for a minimalist gallery app...

I recently transformed an old phone to a mp3/mp4 lector. I would like to have a basic photo viewer app to view all albums and singles covers. Every app I found shows videos too... I just want a very basic photo displayer with no videos and no options to modify, delete... the most minimalist. Does this exist ?

Are there any camera apps that allow more than 8x zoom?

I use a nothing phone and i'm not a fan of the AI super zoom thing when you reach 30x zoom and up. I tried open camera, gcam and even these ultra super mega 10000x zoom apps and they all only allow for 8x zoom using a slider on the left. Is there any camera app with more digital zoom without AI?

Neeing to download song to an MP3 device for free

My husband is a truck driver and needs his phone for work calls and so cant use the Bluetooth to play music. I bought a small mp3 Bluetooth player for him, but need to put music on it for him. Need an app that will help me download music from YouTube or wherever so he can listen to the songs he likes without having to use his phone and listen to commercials and stupid DJ talk.

Location Based Timed reminders?

I'm looking for an app or functionality in Android that will let give me an alert at a specific time only on days I'm at a specific location.

Essentially:

When I'm at an address I need an alert to remind me at 11:45PM to move my car to a different spot.

I don't want to set a reoccurring reminder on my phone. Because I don't want to get in the habit of dismissing it every night when I'm not there. So the nights I am there I dismiss it and take no regard to it.

Anyway to do this?

Can I make Google Discover open links in my default browser?

I have my default browser set to Firefox. When I am going thru Google Discover and find a story I want to read, it launches any links in Chrome. Is it possible to make it launch them in Firefox instead????

Dlna client app

Is anyone know an opensource app that allow me to browse on my DLNA server from my phone?

Or even better if someone can explain to me how to get access to a DLNA server from the app "Material files" ?

The main goal here is to use an app as a filemanager to choose a file on my server to use it in another application.

I built a widget that displays WhatsApp/RCS photos on your home screen. No app install required for your contacts.

Hey! I'm the developer behind Energy Ring, and I just released a new app called Viewget.

I wanted photos from friends and family to greet me every time I unlock my phone. Group chat pics, family snaps, random moments throughout the day, all right there on my home screen.

So I built Viewget (View + Widget).

The idea:

Viewget is a home screen widget that pulls photos from WhatsApp and Google Messages as they come in. Your contacts don't need to download anything, create accounts, or change how they text. They just keep sending photos like normal, and those photos show up on your widget automatically.

Tap any photo to jump directly into that conversation.

Widget options:

Free: A unified widget showing photos from up to 10 contacts
Pro: Individual widgets for specific people, plus group widgets for family chats or friend groups

Privacy:

Uses notification access to detect incoming photos. Everything stays local. No uploads, no servers, no cloud storage.

Why this approach:

Other photo widgets need everyone to install the same app and sign up. That's a tough sell for a whole family or friend group. Viewget piggybacks on apps people already use daily.

This is the first beta, so I'd love feedback. Any features you'd want to see? Issues on specific devices?

Available on Google Play Store!

Happy to answer questions. Also part of my IJP App Bundle if you use any of my other apps.

Voice typing is fast, but I still avoid using it. Anyone else?

On paper, voice typing should solve mobile writing.

In reality, I avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

Speaking while managing punctuation, clarity, and structure feels like multitasking while talking. It saves keystrokes but increases mental effort.

Typing is slower but quieter mentally. Speaking is faster but louder cognitively.

Why does voice input still feel like work instead of relief?

What are the best Android apps/most useful ones?

Just got a new phone and I’m trying to rebuild my app setup from scratch. Instead of just grabbing whatever is popular on the Play Store, I’d rather hear what people here actually rely on.
What are the best Android apps you use daily or feel you can’t live without?
Could be anything — productivity, media, customization, reading, social, utilities, etc.

New Android newcomer looking for some apps

Hi,

I'm coming from iOS. I have some apps which I'm already missing on Android. I'd kindly like to ask for alternatives.

1. Drafts: I use this app as an entry point to my textual things: I write notes, todos and other texts in it, and then I use its actions to move it to appropriate places. Does such an app exist in the Android world? Especially the easy making of actions is what I'm after.

2. WeatherGods: This app has an unique feature of playing a sound for different weather condition. For me its much more than a simple gimmick (I am blind, and such feature gives me a similar vibe to a quick glance for a sighted person).

3. Widget mirroring: on macOS I could mirror my iPhone widgets to the desktop. Is there such a way on Android? I'm slowly transitioning to KDE so doing it on KDE would be good too.

What Android productivity apps do you actually use?

Hey everyone,
I’m curious what productivity apps you use on Android to organize your life. Task managers, project planners, habit trackers, notes, calendars, anything that genuinely helps you stay on top of things.
I’ve tried a few but always end up bouncing between apps or dropping them after a while. Looking for ideas that actually stick in real life, not just in theory.
What do you use daily and why does it work for you?

What is the first thing that makes you uninstall an Android app?

I have been testing a few Android apps recently and noticed I uninstall some within minutes. For me it is usually slow onboarding or too many permissions upfront. Curious what triggers it for others here. What is the fastest way an app loses you?

Simple but nice looking windows notepad equivalent?

like literally just for making .txt file

open app > new > start typing

bonus if it autosave (with yyyyMMdd_hhmm as filename, but that's not important) and has a "homescreen" to show every txt file (i.e. my previously made notes) in the folder I assigned it

I've tried a couple, but they either kinda ugly (sorry), have too much features (I found one where you can actually code with it), or need me to open the folder manually

curious if there's any you guys have tried and can vouch for

free, paid, proprietary, open source, doesn't matter
