What apps do you find useful for your tablet?
I recently got a Samsung tablet and I've been messing around with how I can make the best use out of it productivity/personalization wise. I use it for school mainly so I've been using the Samsung Notes a lot for note taking and PDFs, but I was wondering if anyone had any app recommendations.

Can't sign in to Amazon/Kindke
I got a new Samsung Galaxy for Christmas (git a new phone, got a new phone, got a...oh, sorry, got a little carried away) and after some fuss--aka calling Customer Care--got it activated and pretty much set up. The only problem is I can't sign in to either Amazon or my Kindle app.
I'm signed into both apps on my laptop, so I'm not shut out and my current phone number is in the system. But when I try to sign in on my phone, I give it my email and my password (it doesn't seem to believe I have a passcode) and it tells me it's sent a verification code to my former number, which I no longer have access to.
My apologies to whoever does have thar number now.
Does anybody know how I can sign in with my current phone number? I do love my laptop, but I can't take it everywhere just in case I get a chance to read!

Daily activities tracking app
I am looking for an app where I can just track how my days look like where I just choose each time I am doing a given activity that I started the given activity and then that I finished. A simple one without (too much) ads, blocking other apps, asking too much personal information etc.

The discord app was released on 2015. Was there a popular client for the app before? (If that even existed) maybe like "reddit is fun" Or the mobile experience on Android was always limited to the web?

Which iOS-only app do you wish existed on Android?
Not talking features or system stuff. Just apps.
If you’ve used iOS before, which app do you still miss on Android and why?

Dialer app ringtone sound despite silent mode
Hi dear foss-lovers,
I’m looking for a FOSS dialer/contacts app that can do the following:
Even when my phone is set to silent, I want it to ring for specific contacts. This is possible in the stock dialer, but I would prefer to use a FOSS app (obvious reasons).
I really like the Goodwy dialer/contacts apps and want to use it. I previously did but could not find the option there. It’s possible that I’m overlooking a setting? If so, can someone point me in the right direction.
And if not, does any other FOSS app support this feature?
Or is there a workaround to achieve this behavior?
Thanks in advance!

App to automatically change location permission settings
I am looking for an app that may or may not exist.
My job requires me to have an app on my phone for security purposes. (Titan HST) They ask that we share our location within the app so that we can be located in an emergency. I have decided to just go along with this. I know I could fight it, use a separate device, etc.
Right now I grant location permission Titan HST when I get to work and disable it when I leave so that I can't be tracked when I'm not working. I'm looking for something to automate this. Possible triggers could be when I connect to work Wifi or when I enter a certain geographic area.
I've looked at IFTTT and it doesn't have this capability. I looked at Tasker and can't figure out how to use it. Does anyone have any other thoughts? Thank you!

Looking for a more advanced print spooler
I am looking for an app I can use to have more options while printing. The stock printspooler does not allow me to set scaling, only page size which isn't always enough (I print shipping labels sometimes and I don't always need to use a big box or envelope). Is there an app that is ad-free, processes documents locally, and allows me to set scaling options?
I tried Mopria but apparently the Samsung M2020 printer I have isn't supported by it.

What do you think about apps that let you play and also create casual games?
Most Android games I use these days are casual - puzzle games, block games, short sessions, chill, saves me from 5 mins. of embarrassment when I have to do nothing.
Recently I came across an app where you can play casual games for free, but it also lets you create simple mini-games yourself using prompts. It felt more like a playground than a traditional game app, which I didn’t really expect.
It made me wonder how people here feel about this kind of mix: playing games and casually creating or tweaking them
Do you see yourself using something like that, or do you prefer games to stay strictly “play-only”?
Curious to hear thoughts from people who try a lot of Android apps.

Google Clock - Default alarm sound
Android 16.
It's driving me a little crazy - how do I either change my default alarm sound or delete the Homecoming ringtone?
I would like to set the default to another sound.
I can't find the option for default alarm.
I tried to delete Homecoming (which is set as default now) and it wouldn't let me.
Thanks.

Android app for voice to text (w formatting
I'm trying to find an Android app that also formats text. I currently use the Google Voice to Text feature in the SwiftKey keyboard, but it doesn't add full stops, capitalisation, etc.
I've tried Gboard which isn't any better. Any tips? I'd like to use it to write text messages and emails.

What's the best 2FA/2SV app to use with the following requirements:
* The app will be used to authenticate multiple Google/Gmail accouns during on-device web browser logins.
* None of these accounts are going to be registered as the admin Google account of the Android device.
* Backups should be available and service-independent. The app should produce backup files that can be saved or uploaded anywhere.

Android switch for apks
I'm trying to install an app from one device onto another using an apk from an apk extractor. The issue I'm having is that the devices use two different Android versions. Is there an app (or website) that lets me input an apk, tell it what version of Android it needs to be compatible with, and install the edited version? If not, I found an app that essentially does this but I need to input the "version code," "version name," "minimum sdk version," and "target sdk version," and I have no clue how to find these for either Android versions. I could be really dumb since I haven't been messing with this kind of stuff for very long. (Not sure where to put this but I don't have a computer. Just the two devices.)

Trying to understand the real journey of earning money with an Android app
I did a little research, and at a high level it looks like this. You build the app, publish it on Google Play after the review, and if it’s a paid app, users pay.
But I know this is a very simplified view.
I’m thinking of getting a Google Play Console subnoscription with the idea of earning money from an app. Before I commit to that, I want to understand how this actually looks in real life. How people go from an idea to something published. What really happens after publishing. How money starts coming in, or doesn’t. Where things get complicated, slow, or harder than expected.
I’m also curious about how people actually find users. What you did to get the first users. Whether you spent a lot on ads, spent a little, or didn’t run ads at all. What you tried, what worked, and what didn’t.
If you’ve tried earning money with an Android app, I’d really like to hear how it went for you. The parts that were not obvious at the start. The things you wish you knew earlier. The reality behind “just build and publish”.
I’m trying to learn from real journeys before deciding what to build.
