Is Play Console bugging out? Huge drop in "Total Installs" despite consistent growth 📉

Hi everyone,

I'm the developer of Miku Wallpapers Live, and I recently encountered a confusing issue with my Google Play Console stats.

As you can see in the screenshot, my app has been growing steadily. The "Active devices" metric is up by 42% (reaching \~1k average), and "User acquisitions" are consistently green. However, looking at the "Total installs" chart, it reached a peak of around 4.5k and then suddenly shows a massive vertical drop-off to nearly zero in the last day shown (Feb 6).

Given that my "User loss" (uninstalls) hasn't spiked and my daily downloads are stable, this makes no mathematical sense. It looks like a reporting glitch or a data delay on Google's end, but seeing that number plummet is definitely alarming.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of "phantom drop" in their Total Installs reporting recently? Is this just a common Play Console bug?

Any insights would be appreciated!

Looking for advice on a movie messaging app that doesn’t require a phone number (email would be great).

Need help/advice on a good messaging mobile app that doesn’t require a phone number (requiring an email or something would be great) that allows videos and stuff to be sent, but if the app is deleted or logged out of, messages will still be there or if a message is sent and you are logged out of it, the message will be there once logged back in. Any help would be appreciated.

[APP] PixelSnap Case Animation (Like Magsafe Case Animation)

The concept of automatically theming your phone to match your phone case sounds very Android when it comes to customisation, but sadly is an Apple feature.

Thought of mimicking this feature in Pixel (and other AOSP like UI phones supporting dynamic colour themes).

The idea is to paste cheap NFC stickers on the inside of your phone cases and program them with the app to match the colour. Now whenever you snap a case that has been programmed, your phone theme and wallpaper automatically changes to the programmed style, matching with your case.

The app offers few basic colours and wallpapers (9) built in with an option to select custom wallpaper, from which colours will automatically be extracted.

Short demo video https://youtube.com/shorts/A1PQ6GqFAV0?si=MTD3bmw1t_mD26TW. It's a screen recording so you can't see the cases being snapped on the phone but you get the idea anyway.

The question is, is this idea appealing enough? Are people going to want to use this?

Fully offline, privacy-first AI trannoscription & assistant app. Is there a market for this?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently developing a mobile app that combines real-time Speech-to-Text (STT) with small, on-device LLMs to provide instant summaries, action items, and suggestions.

The core philosophy is simple: Zero data leaves your phone.

Most AI trannoscription services right now (like Otter, Glean, or even standard dictation) require an internet connection and send your audio to the cloud for processing. While they are powerful, I feel there is a massive gap for professionals, journalists, or privacy-conscious individuals who want the power of AI without sacrificing privacy or dealing with latency/connection issues.

Here is what the app does:

\- Real-time Trannoscription multi language: High-accuracy STT running locally.

\- Smart Assistant: Uses optimized Small Language Models (SLMs) to generate recaps, extract tasks, or answer questions based on the conversation immediately.

\- 100% Offline: Works in airplane mode. No API calls, no subnoscription fees for cloud compute, and absolute privacy.

\- Low Latency: Since it’s local, the feedback loop is incredibly fast.

I need a reality check from the community:

Is this something you would actually use? Does the "offline/privacy" aspect matter enough to you to switch from existing cloud tools?

What is the biggest pain point with current trannoscription apps that I should solve?

I’m really excited about the tech stack (running quantized models on mobile is finally getting good), but I want to make sure I’m building something people actually want before I go too deep.

Thanks for any feedback—brutal honesty is welcome!

Nova alternative with widgets and NO ADS

Just wondering what everyone is switching to.
What I loved about Nova is widget support and the ability to scale icons so I can have 5 wide instead of 4 wide.

I haven't been launcher shopping for better part of half a decade maybe? I have no idea what's good these days, what has good privacy protection, what doesn't have ads, etc. And before anybody tells me to "just google it"... google sucks now, too. Stuffed with AI, and every website is sponsored or AI written or keyworded for affiliate links - I want to know what acual human experience has to say and that's becomming less and less accessible.

So what yall got?

Need a maps app better than Google maps- suggestions?

Looking for a good maps app

I need something where I can save/pin locations and have them easily viewable all at once, and/or something where you can kind of plan a journey and hit multiple locations. Google maps doesnt have all the features I need and makes it difficult to search for things around a specific pin. TIA!!

Best Remote Desktop Connection App

Hi all I am currently looking for an android remote connection app. Purpose of this app is going to be a providing support for non-technical users therefore I need something that requires minimum input from the user if possible, not even requiring user to open the application so I can open remote connection without needing the user around the device. Is it possible? I know about AnyDesk but it requires user to approve connection every single time which I dont want them to do.
Thanks in advance.

Pop-up Word Meaning

Hello guys, I need an app which can give the meaning of any selected word in any in-app in a floating/pop up screen. For example like in the screenshot, I selected out the word which means I want. I don't want to leave the app to search for the meaning.

Is there any app which can do it. I know a circle to search can do this but I want an app.

Not just another reminder app

I am working on building a reminder sharing app, where I and you can literally set reminders for each other on the opposite phone or device.

I already built a prototype, but I am not sure if this app even makes sense to anyone or is there even any market demand for it ?

Am I using Android right? (After switching from iOS)

Question might sound confusing, so let me explain.

Summer 25 is when I switched from iOS to Adroid, after being a iOS user since 2010. I now have a Nothing Phone 3 and I like the Android platform. What I don't know: am I taking advantage of Android compared to iOS?

What apps do you guys use after switching systems, so you get a better experience? I have this idea that, when leaving Apple, you have 10x more options for basically everything. But I see myself using mostly entertainment apps like YouTube, Reddit, Instagram. Nothing Android specific that improves the user experience.

I know that this is a very vague and open question, but I'm sure y'all can give me some good inputs.

Question | Bug? Cx Explorer (no hidden files shown)

I have been using Cx Explorer for years and it's my favorite File Explorer for Android, but recently I need access to hidden folders, but I can't show them.

Even with the Option "Hide/Unhide" checked..

The created ".filename" are just disappearing and I can't get them to see again.

How do you manage bookmarks and links across multiple platforms?

Hi everyone,

Quick question for Android users, who also use Apple, Linux, or a desktop during the day.

How do you currently manage links across devices?

For example, if you come across something on Instagram on your phone and later want to share it with a friend on Slack from your laptop, what does that flow usually look like for you? Do you send the link to yourself, rely on browser sync, download the app on both devices, or something else?

Feel like there are a few different ways to do this, but none of them feel particularly smooth. (Used to use airdrop when I was on iPhone)
