55f-just went platinum DS2. Can I have a moment.
Like the noscript says I am 55f and I just now got platinum in DS2. My friends who are my age wouldn’t understand. My kids are in their 20’s and they don’t play so I need to tell someone! I’m so happy! It only took me 197 hours ha! What a beautiful game!

I Love this game
Context:
I have avoided DS1 since it came out. I am not the the biggest Hideo fan, and I kept hearing "walking simulator" for years. Despite the glowing reviews, I just felt like this game was not for me, and I never played it.
I just got the platinum trophy on Claire Obscure : Expedition 33 a couple months ago, I was OBSESSED. The inspirations were worn on the sleeve sure, but the story was so cool and unique.
And then I played the most recent Assassin's Creed game, and while I've been a fan of AC since day one (I'm 33) it was just so copy and paste formulaic I was bored and wanted something "different" again.
The ONLY game that game came to mind was Death Stranding, and despite my hesitation, I downloaded it and holy f'n shit I can't put it down. The lore is insane, I love the terrain traversal, and it's oddly soothing in its own weird way.
I can't wait to play On The Beach, but for now, just wanted to give this game it's props.
