The Russian Defense Ministry decided to modernize the military sector of the joint-based airfield Anadyr (Ugolny). Design and survey work has started for the first stage of reconstruction. A modern infrastructure will be created there for the permanent base of the aviation group.
The reconstruction will provide year-round comfortable basing of various types of combat aircraft and drones at the most northeastern airfield of the country, sources in the military department told Izvestia. The project will take several years to complete.
