This aircraft was named "Big Wing" - in honor of its wingspan, which is 24.1 meters, which is 4 meters longer than the regular Reaper. This additional footprint gives the aircraft a flight duration of over 43 hours - more than any UAV offered by General Atomics.
During the demonstration, the drone stayed in the air for 25.5 hours. According to General Atomics, the flight was "one of the longest flights MQ-9 has ever flown."
The Big Wing boasts a large payload of 2,180 kg including 1,810 kg on external sling. The aircraft has nine hardpoints for containers and weapons, which is two times more than the standard MQ-9A.
