🇺🇸 Command of global strikes (KSU) US Air Force completed the sale of 17 B-1B strategic bombers. On September 23, the last B-1B aircraft made a flight from the Edwards air base (California) on the storage air base (aircraft conservation) Davis Montan (Arizona). The sale of aircraft is carried out in support of the US Air Force Us on the modernization of the American bomber park, as permitted by law on state defense. Kenon Bell, the logistics director and engineering KSU noted: "With a smaller number of aircraft in the park B-1, more time and attention will be able to pay more time and attention to each aircraft left in the park." 17 B-1B aircraft were written off from 62, 45 - involved. Of the 17 heated aircraft, one was delivered to the Tinker Air Force (Oklahoma) base as a prototype for repair work. One sent to Edwards Air Base for ground tests on it. One was delivered to Wichita (Kansas) to the National Institute of Aviation Research for the creation of digital cards, and the other - on the Barksdale Air Force Base (Louisiana) as a static exposition
for the Global Power Barksdale Museum. The remaining 13 aircraft will be on the storage of 309 aerospace maintenance and recovery group on Davis-Montan's airbase to the storage of type 4000. Four of them will remain in the reuse of the state in the storage type 2000. "Conclusion from "Continuous operation over the past 20 years has damaged to our B-1B fleet, and the aircraft that we have written off, it would take from $ 10 to $ 30 million to repair it." "The withdrawal of these aircraft from operation will now allow the CSG to focus on the definition of priorities for the current park, including efforts to modernize, to make the bombarder fleet in general," added Bell. "The US Air Force needs to go from three bombers to two-restored B-52 and B-21 of the next generation - to keep in both established and growing powers. This change is vital for future joint operations and allies operations, because no other service or country service provides opportunities for long-range bombers. "

China will show the CH-6 jet combat UAV for the first time

Demonstration of the newest multipurpose drone will take place on September 28 at China's largest international air show in Zhuhai.

The Cai Hong series drone ("Rainbow") was developed by the 6th Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation of China and is better known as CH-6. Experts consider it a high-altitude, long-range unmanned system designed to gather intelligence, support and strike.

The new PLA aircraft looks almost like an oversized CH-5, but its rear configuration is significantly different from the earlier model. It has a tall T-shaped tail unit with two jet engines mounted side-by-side at the top of the tail. This UAV has wings of medium length and slightly sweptback, it has a high landing gear. The sixth "Rainbow" also has a noticeable "cheeky" edge, enveloping the elliptical fuselage.

According to preliminary data, the characteristics of the CH-6 UAV are as follows:

maximum take-off weight - 7.8 tons;

maximum carrying capacity - 300 kg (reconnaissance type) or 2 tons (reconnaissance and assault type);

fuel reserve - 3.42 tons (reconnaissance type) or 1.72 tons (reconnaissance and assault type);

length - 15 m, wingspan - 20.5 m and height - 5 m;

maximum flight speed - 800 km / h;

maximum rate of climb - 20 m / s.

cruising speed 500-700 km / h;

cruising altitude - 10 km (ceiling - 12 km);

maximum flight duration - 20 hours (reconnaissance type) or 8 hours (reconnaissance-attacking type);

maximum flight range - 12,000 km (reconnaissance type) or 4,500 km (reconnaissance and attack type).

The CH-6's combat status appears to lie between the low-signature, mid-altitude, mid-life UAVs, the Chinese propeller-driven aircraft surveillance systems, long-range, medium-altitude, and more advanced jet-powered high-altitude reconnaissance drones with long service life. The fact that it is permissible to equip it with weapons from the outset clearly indicates that the Chinese Air Force is seeking to expand its fleet of attack drones.

The reactive speed of this drone will provide it with the speed of passing the patrolled area, improve its endurance on the patrol route. The two engines are designed to improve the reliability of the UAV, which is probably a key design element for the CH-6, given the distances at which the drone will need to be controlled and the underdevelopment of Chinese jet engine technology.

The closest to the CH-6 among American UAVs is probably the Avenger from General Atomics. Although the design of the sixth "Rainbow" paid less attention to stealth, and it seems that for some types of missions it is capable of flying at high altitudes. In some respects, the Avenger would be more correctly classified as a cross between the Chinese CH-6 and Cloud Shadow. In addition, the overall design of the CH-6 is significantly simpler.

The Defiant X uses Sikorsky X2 technology to provide stability when flying at high speeds.

Critical ability provides soldiers with increased maneuverability and survivability in critical conditions. The Defiant X was to be built from the ground up for a modernized army that needed to adapt to a rapidly changing military environment. Changes to Boeing and Sikorsky helicopters also concern a new weapon system that will allow combat not only in a conventional way, but also in a digital way.

Andy Adams, vice president of Sikorsky, said his brand is capable of delivering unrivaled capabilities backed by proven technology that will transform the military. All this with the possibility of quick adaptation in the future.

Sikorsky and Boeing speculate that the US Army will be able to operate the new version of the helicopter for another 50 years. However, it is not known when exactly it will be adopted.
