At the meeting, he said that inter-Korean lines of communication would be restored in early October as part of efforts "to fulfill the expectations and aspirations of the entire Korean nation for an early restoration of relations between North and South, as well as the establishment of a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula."
He also gave an assessment of the current relations between the North, South and the United States, which in general repeats what the DPRK Foreign Ministry ambassador and his sister Kim Yeo-jong said before him recently.
