Xiaomi devices are the only I know that ship without a ramdisk but still accept ramdisks in their bootloader. There is no way to know this beforehand, so as general install instructions, I have to assume the worst.

Moreover, speaking of proofs, when someone sends these messages to you, ask them for proof/context.
