Biden is finished. The power players just haven't found a way to move Biden out without it looking like an obvious and calamitous defeat.

I would not be surprised if Biden receives some "unexpected and terrible health news" that will require him to "step down with dignity." It's not the best cover, but the power players are desperate. We're only 8 months in, and 2022 is on the horizon.

Complicating the problem is Harris. As I've tweeted about before, she would face a huge uphill battle in 2024. She's deeply unpopular within important factions of her party and fairs no better across party lines.

UPDATE — Wednesday, Sept. 1: Since midnight central time, no rulings have been issued from the United States Supreme Court on the Texas law that bans abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

That means the law has officially taken effect.

An emergency request to block the law remains pending at SCOTUS.

NEW: Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin (R) says he stopped communicating because it wasn't safe. The Congressman says he's working to get trapped Americans out of Afghanistan.
