Why doesn't Google force manufacturers to implement certain standards/features?

In the RCS thread theres quite a discussion going on. To my understanding not even every manufacturer has implemented RCS completely on their phones yet.

Couldn't Google just say: Implement RCS (or anything else they want to push) for your max 2 year old devices in 6 months, or you lose access to the Google Ecosystem. Surely no manufacturer would dare to oppose that? (look what happened with Huawei when they faced that threat)...

Why do people support Huawei?

I realized this sub has some sort of love for Huawei but I just don't get it. I don't actually care about the security and data concerns associated with the company. I dislike Huawei because they're just a shady company that has a tendency to copy other companies shamelessly. Here are some reasons:

At work, there's been a lot of downtime recently, so I've used this time to try to strengthen my Android development skills. This is my second game in around 2 years.

The idea is to simulate the Mega Millions Jackpot: you choose 5 unique numbers between 1 and 70, then choose a "mega number" between 1 and 25. If the first 5 numbers match in any order AND the mega number matches, you win.

Please help the WearOS users out. We need to reach Google, so they make a wider rollout of Google Pay for WearOS!

As some of you may know, Google Pay is currently supported in 30 countries. But as Google does with a lot of features, they only release it in some countries for no reason.

Google Pay for WearOS is currently only supported in 10 countries. So 20 countries are left in the dark.

Could an alternative Linux-based mobile OS be built into Android GSI images?

Hello. I was wondering about the likes of Ubuntu Touch, SailfishOS and FirefoxOS. All of them have either met an untimely end or at least - to put it politely - decreased significantly in relevance. I may be mistaken, but my understanding of the phenomenon was that the economics of developing and testing every individual device made it practically impossible and prohibitively costly.
