What Does Sony, HTC, or LG Need to Do?

Besides marketing, what do these OEMs need to do be more competitive in countries like the US? From my experience, they have all been making quality phones for years but are largely ignore. Only LG and ASUS have headphone jack, with only the former supercharging it with the Quad DAC. Sony has included 4K HDR display in their phone for years, use a pretty stock skin, and actually update their phones. HTC U12+, I believe in one of the best phones in past few years but has no chance. And the latter...
