In the current smartphone climate, what phone made you settle down?

By settle down, I mean you'll be using the phone till it breaks.

Mine is Redmi Note 5.

Here's what I love about it:

* Good battery life. It has 4000 mAh battery.
* MIUI. It has so many features that I really love like native app locker, dual apps, second space, dark mode, and etc.
* MicroSD card slot
* I can use GCam with it....

I made a video about the RCS for Android

Hi, since RCS has been rolled out to the UK I've had a bit of time to play around with how this works so I've made a video all about this: [My RCS Video](https://youtu.be/UbHkm8RIXVY)

I start with the history and then go onto how it looks when you enable it. The whole process could be a lot smoother to set up and hopefully Google get this all ironed out so it just shows up for every Android user. Any views, comments, likes are appreciated....

Realistically, how much does extra 20% battery capacity do for the user?

I remember the first few Sony Z-series (Z, Z2, Z3) were pretty hyped up for "better than iPhone" battery life and around that time, the movement to get "long battery life" went mainstream. But it's been 5 years and we haven't seen progress since. Changing to a flagship of that size/weight class (like a Samsung S10) has only netted sidegrades in battery life over the years.

Only way to get even better battery life these days is to get a physically larger phone. But how significant is an extra 20...

Thought: Release of flagships -> every two years?

https://www.cnet.com/news/forget-the-note-10-the-google-pixel-3a-is-2019s-most-important-phone/

I was reading the article above when I realized something: If Samsung and Apple experienced decreasing sales from their expensive flagships, wouldn't it be better for them (and for the rest of the smartphone manufacturers as well) if they would release new flagships only every two years or so? In that way, they could focus on their mid-range offerings (which is the most interesting segment for now)...

The YouTube App is about to get ruined

EDIT: As it turns out, this was actually a strange behaviour exhibited by YouTube when certain accessibility settings are enabled. I have no idea why this happened since I have never touched my accessibility settings. Disabling them fixed the problem. I will leave this post up just in case someone else experiencing the same issue finds it. Sorry for the false alarm, folks!!

**Context**

So I received a server-side update to YouTube yesterday. None of my friends seem to have received this weird ...

Note 10 DeX has access to full Linux OS

Noticed that not many people have even mentioned this, it's huge, someone even showed you can use command line.

Used terminal to download GIMP.

Honestly looks sick...

Why dont midrange phones use older Snapdragon 800s series chips rather than the 600s series?

If the 800s are the best for flagships, why do midrange phones have 600s?...
