Do you think one day widgets and apps will look as seamless and as integrated as wallpaper?

As of now, both apps and widgets--even text-- are visually expressed as overlays, but I wonder if, one day, they can be indistinguishable from the integrated look of wallpapers and the very colors on a screen. This may be the next big push. What do you guys think?...

Google shouldn't approve auto renewal of subnoscriptions without biometric authentication / password lock

Today at 9:28 PM i got a SMS from my bank stating my a/c was debited 1699 rs ( $24 ). I checked my bank website to check where was it credited to. It said bumble.

I quickly went to check my email. There was nothing. No notification about auto renewal. I got bumble free trail ( 14 days ) and it said it will renew subnoscription after 14 days. But there was no confirmation to reauthorize the payment.

Google always asks for my fingerprint before i purchase any app / book. But neither Google nor b...

What I think Smart Lock should do

Biometric authentication like fingerprint readers make unlocking your phone so fast and convenient that it never makes sense to leave your phone unlocked. For this reason, Smart Lock is useless in its current state on many Android phones.

However, the problem with biometric unlock is that it's not as secure as a PIN or passphrase.

The solution to both problems: instead of Smart Lock keeping your phone unlocked, it should allow less secure methods of unlock when certain conditions are...

What reviews almost never tell us - some personal experiences with Android phones in the last few months

About 7 months ago I posted this story about how [not all BLE5 phones are equal](https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ak2tqq/what_is_really_wrong_with_bluetooth_5_how_the/) and from the feedback I found that a very inexpensive phone did have the BLE5 long-range feature that I was interested in testing (for work) - so I got one. Later we needed to also test on a different BLE stack so I also got one S10e but in the end while I loved the small size of the S10e I could not stand the lack of no...

How good are budget smartphones compared to top tier phones like iPhone and Galaxy series phones?

I've been considering purchasing a budget smartphone like the G7 to replace my worn out S6. Is there anything I should be prepared for switching from a Galaxy to something like the Moto G7 or am I just way to confident that all that extra money I paid before wasnt a waste?...

How much do you care for 90 Hz and beyond for today's smartphones .

Picking up the note 10 plus soon upgrading from my note 9 . Was disappointed that 10 plus wasn't included in the phone specs but I can live with that .

I wanna hear from ppl who have phones which support 90 and above vs ppl who haven't .what's your thoughts going into the 2020 phone lineup?. Will it become more of common feature ? Which big phone flagship beside October's pixel 4 (rumours) and Asus rog phone 2 will have it as a feature ....

Theory: Pixel 4 and USA RCS will launch together

I believe that since the new Pixel 4 has a ton of similar camera/dot matrix projector tech as the iPhone that Google will also release a Animoji competitor. With the work they've done on personal stickers and things like that it would be a natural progression and hopefully they add some unique artist so it isn't the same Disney-ske art style.

However, it would be pretty dumb of them to do that while MMS limits are where they're at (if anyone's gotten an Animoji from an iPhone on Android, its tr...

[Discussion] Google should let users uninstall Google apps on Android One without rooting

IMHO, some Google apps are kinda useless for me.

Like Play Games, or Play Music, or even Maps, but above all, Chrome.
I'm not here to rant about Chrome, but I take the new Firefox Preview over any Chrome *any day.* It's faster, has a built in dark theme, the UI doesn't suck with the super easy to reach URL bar at the bottom, it's open source, has a built in as blocker, and can sync to my lovely Firefox back home. Only problem with Chrome is that I newer ever managed to get any link from any Go...

PSA: Spammers are now using Google Calendar invites for fake security alerts

I got a calendar invite that appeared on my Pixel phone (why isn't this being flagged as spam?!) about an event I had been invited to, which had a dodgy link attached. It looked semi convincing aside from the random person who invited me and weird link.
