Android should add a Bluetooth 'here beep' to test what speakers you are actually connected to.

I will use Bluetooth in one room, and switch to another set after leaving to another room, but the phone doesn't actually switch, it just says it does. So then if I press play, the audio will come from the old device. This has been the case forever on many different phones. It would be great to maybe have a small ping sound when you lower the volume all the way and click a few extra times just to let you know if it's the right speaker, cause what is fine for one speaker may be way too loud for a...

Just got the ZenFone 6, AMA

Came from a Moto g5s plus, so the only thing I can't really comment on is the screen, as I've never used an amoled for a long time. For me the screen is good, and definitely better than the Moto....

Androids needs precise volume control

This is one of the major Annoyances that people have with Android and one of the dumbest things that still isn't fixed, is the Volume control you can't change it precisely from 0% to 100% like in every other OS, you can only change it to predefined steps that are always either too low or too high, I think fixing that will improve the experience for all alot of users....

How to solve the hamburger menu problem in Android 10?

I've been using gestures for about a week now and I've gotten quite used to them. They aren't as bad as I had initially thought. Everything seems to be working fine. They're still clunky, it's Android after all, but it's not too bad.

That said though, there is still one lingering issue. The hamburger menu and the back gesture relationship.

They conflict directly. I wish I could say I am surprised that Google shipped Android with this issue unresolved, but I am not.

I've always used the side s...

Saw the in-app update for the first time today

I don't know how many years it has been since Google announced this seamless update process called in-app updates which can be used by devs to nudge users to update the app. Finally saw it in action for the first time today. Didn't crash/force close the app, so it works i guess.

Federated Learning Settings in Google App

After updating the Google App on my phone to 10.61.6.21, new federated learning settings show up in settings search tagged [TBD]: [https://i.imgur.com/UP20AXC.png](https://i.imgur.com/UP20AXC.png)

Tapping the search result takes you to the general page of the settings app but there are no settings matching either result. It looks like they're getting ready to have federated learning controls in the Google App....

Favorite Android 10 feature

Ever wonder what apps are accessing your location when you're not using them?

I upgraded to Android 10 a few days ago and every now and then I get an alert that XYZ app is accessing my location while I am not using it. Just two taps later I have changed the permissions for that app to "Allow only while using the app"

I want to go through and set them all but I also like catching the apps that do....

[DISCUSSION] How exactly does Android 10 trump iOS 13?

Okay so this is a genuine question that’s been bothering me for a while and would love some insight. I’ve been an iPhone user since my 5s in 2013 and the whole Android vs iOS debate is something I’ve experienced more than I can count. And back then I remember people making some genuine points that trumped my responses about iOS 7 and my 5s back then:
1. Native swipe keyboard
2. File system to manage documents
3. Expandable storage
4. Ability to install app apks (pirating apps) without rooting

People will complain even if google makes a notchless truly full-screen pixel phone

I saw many comments last year when google launched pixel 3xl, that notch is huge and ugly. This year as google officially revealed glimpse of how pixel 4 looks without notch. Still people find a way to complain that bezels are huge. I see people find a way to complain everytime.

I really hope this year pixels take limelight so that we can see either smaller bezel phones or truly notchless phones going forward, already trend is towards notchless in higher end, so time for midrangers to follow....
