For those considering a OnePlus 7(T) Pro or a Pixel 4 (XL)

I just switched from OnePlus 7 Pro to Pixel 4 XL and am up for answering questions as unbiasedly as I can.

Bottom line they're both amazing phones, if I could merge the two into one super phone I'd be happy as can be!...

Questions for people who own high refresh rate phones (90 or 120 hz) What phone do you use and how much did the increased frame rate improve the experience? Worth it for the extra cost to you?

I'm not sure how much it matters on a phone, but the high refresh rate on my ipad pro 11 is VERY noticeable over my older ipads and makes the experience much more enjoyable. On a small screen like a phone though, I'm not sure how much extra joy one would get from this vs the lowered battery life.

I don't game if that helps....

PSA: Latest Titanium Backup update breaks the app on Android 9 devices

Force close at the start during the license check. So far confirmed by other reviews in the German play store.

Of course you could just revert back to the old version with Ti... Oh wait......

[Privacy]: RCS messages will use Google's relay servers to bypass the carrier, while Google kills the end-to-end encryption that was present in the original RCS standard.

Lots of hype 🚂 for RCS in the Android community these days, but I don't see discussions over the privacy ramifications.

*What information will Google see when you send a message?* Metadata? Message content? Neither? Both? And if yes, are you OK with consolidating so much power in one company's hands?

The article below explains that the RCS data bypasses the carrier and uses data connection and Google's servers.

Are you using gesture navigation in Android 10? Can't decide if I should train my brain.

I've just got a Pixel 4 and I'm not sure how I feel about the navigation buttons disappearing. Switching between currently open apps is particularly annoying.

Should I force myself to get used to it (if it's going to be the future anyway), or are people just turning the nav buttons back on?...

Bought a Samsung galaxy device. It's amazing.

Today I bought the galaxy a50 smartphone and I love it.

The good:

- one UI is the best version of Android out there, this is coming from someone who used Android one smartphones for 2 years.

- Samsung actually STILL cares about casting that they gave the aspect ratio change option to get full screen apps on TV, which is just pure respect for that decision. Other phones manufacturers don't give you this option and the output looks horrible.

- In-display fingerprint sensor is quick as far as I...

"In-app purchases", and "Contains ads" are great warnings, but I think we need a third. "Online connection required"

I work underground. No mobile, no wifi. I download games to pass the time during lunch and breaks because Netflix gets stale.

It's gotten to the point that if I grab a new game I need to put my phone in airplane mode and test to make sure it still works before I take it to work. Sometimes that's not even enough. I had one game that needed to "Download additional data" when I started, but then AGAIN after I finished the tutorial.

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe the warning is already there a...
