Are you using gesture navigation in Android 10? Can't decide if I should train my brain.

I've just got a Pixel 4 and I'm not sure how I feel about the navigation buttons disappearing. Switching between currently open apps is particularly annoying.

Should I force myself to get used to it (if it's going to be the future anyway), or are people just turning the nav buttons back on?...

Bought a Samsung galaxy device. It's amazing.

Today I bought the galaxy a50 smartphone and I love it.

The good:

- one UI is the best version of Android out there, this is coming from someone who used Android one smartphones for 2 years.

- Samsung actually STILL cares about casting that they gave the aspect ratio change option to get full screen apps on TV, which is just pure respect for that decision. Other phones manufacturers don't give you this option and the output looks horrible.

- In-display fingerprint sensor is quick as far as I...

"In-app purchases", and "Contains ads" are great warnings, but I think we need a third. "Online connection required"

I work underground. No mobile, no wifi. I download games to pass the time during lunch and breaks because Netflix gets stale.

It's gotten to the point that if I grab a new game I need to put my phone in airplane mode and test to make sure it still works before I take it to work. Sometimes that's not even enough. I had one game that needed to "Download additional data" when I started, but then AGAIN after I finished the tutorial.

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe the warning is already there a...

Dark mode shouldn't be "Black mode"

Dark mode shouldn't be "black mode".

I know the black helps to save battery on OLED displays but the contrast with white text is just too much for me. The dark grey that we had before was much easier on the eyes and it's a shame that's it's gone because of this horrific "black mode". Plus the fact that many Android apps with good dark mode will now only enable it when "black mode" is activated is a real shame (looking at you Google Keep).

Why can't we have both so that everyone can be happy? ...

[Opinion] Reviewers place way too much weight on the camera when reviewing phones

Something I've noticed as the reviews for the Pixel 4 have started to come in is that a very large portion of most reviews is spent talking about the camera. This seems very strange to me, at this point pretty much all high end phone cameras are good to very good and I think most people don't really care if their phone cameras are 1% closer to DSLR quality than their competitor.

I think this comes down to most reviewers being way more into photography and videography than the average person(es...

Gboard saves your clipboard data even when clipboard is disabled

It happened multiple times. I always remove it from the bar, but sometimes I press the three dots button and the clipboard button by mistake and all my last copied things are there. When closing the keyboard and opening it again, clipboard shows as disabled. Try avoid copying sensitive data.

^(Why is the point of having a hide toolbar shortcuts button if you have to press it every time when opening the keyboard?)...
