Android companies planned on switching to 21:9 years ago?

They started with jumping to 18:9 because a jump from 16:9 to 21:9 would be huge, so they jumped to 18:9 and started gradually increasing aspect ratio year by year, their goal is to reach 21:9, I have seen a lot of criticism of 21:9 and I do agree with all of it, I prefer 18:9, this year will be the year of 20:9 and in 2021 most phones will be in 21:9. I just hope I'm correct and that they won't go past 21:9, cause 21:9 is already way too tall and thin, it would be insanity to go even beyond tha...

Reasons for upgrading from an older (~2yr old) high-end flagship?

This post is being written following a break in a tradition which has left me feeling rather inquisitive about the reasons why some of us upgrade our phones so often.

I currently own the Note 8. Since the iPhone 4 (my first and only Apple device), I've owned predominantly Samsung's Note devices, from the Note II, all the way to the current Note 8. I did own a Nexus 6P in the middle to try out Google for a while though. Unlike previous years though, where I have upgraded my device as soon as t...

Tip: Hamburger menu swipe in Android 10.

So I just got the android 10 update on my phone and well, it's okay I guess. There's nothing quite game changing... But the thing that I liked and disliked the most is the gesture navigation.

It's just the swipe from the edge for back that fucks with my hamburger menus annoys me a lot.

I looked for it online and people have suggested diagonal swipes and L/J swipes. And they work at times, just not all the time.

So I tried different ways and found one way that works 100% of the time for me....

\* a headphone jack!

\* in-display fingerprint reader

\* quad camera setup

\* no camera bump on the back

\* 4000mAh battery

Do you prefer Android's Notification system over that of iOS or prefer the other way, and why?

We are in 2020 and most of us have used both the major mobile operating systems, Android and iOS at some point of time. Also, technical capabilities of both OS are largely similar. The difference boils down to personal preferences and one of the major difference is in Notification system of both OS.

I always used to like Notification system on Android because it is up there and you cannot miss it. However, lately I have started enjoying Notification system on iPhone. In the age of too many noti...

New “Google Sans Text” font could be a future Roboto replacement

In the Google Design’s Best of 2019 page, Google used a new font called [Google Sans Text](https://twitter.com/Davallree/status/1206994114975191041) (which is seemingly in beta).

This font could be a future replacement for text in the Google Material Theme since Roboto is getting old and that the classic Google Sans is better suited for headers or noscripts.

You can see what it looks like in the [Google Design’s Best of 2019 page](https://design.google/library/google-design-2019/)....

I think Google is rolling out RCS to dual SIM phones!

Hi guys. I'm a messages (beta) user. Today I got

"chat features->status: connected"
on my dual SIM phone! Also got a verification code from Google.
I think Google is finally rolling out RCS support to dual SIM card phones!?
(Unfortunately I couldn't post images in this subreddit)...

The s8 active has been a tank of a phone for me I really like it especially when I added a tempered glass screen protector and a military grade proof case 😁! I wish Samsung updated it to andriod 10 one UI 2 or at least made a s9 active or S10 active...
