Others are stepping up their sensor game, your move, Google!

OnePlus marks one of the latest manufacturers to really up their game in sensor size. With OnePlus 8 Pro, they included [quite a large 1/1.4" sensor](https://s23527.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/oneplus-sensors-745x255.jpg.optimal.jpg) for the main camera.

Huawei started (I'm not going to count Nokia as I'll only include recent players) the trend of larger sensors with their P series and Mate series phones, by including larger 1/1.55" and 1/1.7" sensors in those phones. Soon the industry t...

(Opinion) Why Pixel devices shouldn't be branded as the true Android experience

Hello everyone,

I compared Pixel's Android to stock Android (I used my Android One mobile as a comparison) and I have found the following differences:

- Blue accent color instead of green
- Product Sans instead of Roboto
- True black dark theme instead of dark blue-ish dark theme
- Exclusive: Pixel Launcher
- Exclusive: Live wallpapers
- Exclusive: Fully fledged Always on Display
- Exclusive: Google Camera
- Exclusive: Most up to date Google Assistant
- App exclusives such as SnapChat Camera2...

My take: Software Services will be main driver of smartphone revenue

I believe the new iPhone SE may begin a steady trend in the smartphone industry. As you know, prices of smartphones have skyrocketed, reaching absurd levels, because they pack in the lastest and greatest hardware. At some point though, for a consumer, the latest smartphone is already so powerful that the difference between some of these price points in terms of average user experience becomes unnoticeable. Paying 400$ for a phone like 4a or iPhone SE becomes more rational choice for the average ...

Pixel 3a -- One year as a daily driver

With the release of the Pixel 4a right around the corner I thought I'd give a review of my daily driver: the Pixel 3a.

TL;DR The 2019 OG Nexus 5.

I bought the Pixel 3a last spring right after it was announced. I got it on sale for $299, which in hindsight was a really good deal. You can read/watch a ton of reviews on this phone, so I'm going try to focus on what I like about the phone and how it's held up after one year.

Although it uses a mid-range processor, the 3a has been really smooth ...

Would you buy a 2020 Google Pixel 2 with the latest chip for $399?

Would you? Nothing changes apart from the chip is improved. I'll even let you have nightsight and all the other pixel features from 2017-2020

Apple fans are drooling over the iphone SE which is basically a 2017 iphone 8 with the latest chip.

Is apple showing that the direction the industry has taken over the last few years has been for nothing? 18:9-20:9 screens aren't essential? Bezels are fine? Large screens are too big? Night mode is unnecessary? 2017 selfie cams are good enough?...
