The Pixel Buds don't have ANC. But if Google could use their background noise cancellation magic from Google Meet, it would be a game changer.

Bose and Sony may have the best ANC but it's limited to continuous frequency noises. So it doesn't cancel out keyboards, honks and conversations. But what Google ([demo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYEJJNKS8j4)), Nvidia ([demo](https://clips.twitch.tv/EnthusiasticPricklyGoblinDatSheffy)), Microsoft, Discord and others have demoed with their background noise cancellation algorithms seems more useful. The catch might be that it's only available when on WiFi, but it would still be useful in off...

Android and Windows need a cross platform AirDrop alternative.

Since Microsoft is working on Android devices, it would be a great opportunity for Google and Microsoft to work on a cross platform AirDrop alternative. I suppose that most of Android users have a Windows PC, so this integration would be great....

Anyone pretty happy with their phone?

So I've been looking for a new phone for about a week now (switching from a Huawei P20lite). Preferably Android and not over 450€ (486 USD).

DISCLAIMER: Most of the pros and cons listed below are things I've either heard or read on the Internet so I can't guarantee that those are true.

Here's a list of all the phones I've considered and the pros and cons of each:

1. Xiaomi Redmi 8
Pros: Super cheap, Good looking, Pretty water resistant and good battery

Cons: Apparently it overheats really q...

I received my Pixel Buds - My experience so far

I received the pixel buds yesterday and began playing with them when I got home from work. I'll detail my experiences below so far, and update as I continue to use them today.

FYI, I'm using a Pixel 2 with the April security patch

**Unboxing & Setup**

As all of the reviews stated, this is a seamless process. Unbox, go into Bluetooth settings, pair new device, open the Pixel Buds case, and they paired within a second or two. Good job, Google!

**Pixel Bud App**

The app walks you through a bri...

The misleading pricing problem.

So I have noticed a problem with smartphone advertising that is becoming worse and a bit more irritating over the last couple years.

That is advertising the devices price after a trade in. Now that wouldn’t be that big of a deal but it’s becoming more and more misleading. The text that says with a trade in is getting smaller and more hidden, and the device they are assuming you will trade to get that advertised price is getting more and more absurd.

The companies are starting to advertise th...

What's the hype about macro cameras?

Why are OEMs replacing the telephoto camera with a macro?. I think the telephoto camera is more useful in a day to day use. I have been looking at new phones and most of them replaced the telephoto camera with a macro. Why are they doing it? Am I missing something?...

Just received my Moto G Power upgraded from a G7.

My previous phone was a Moto G7 Plus and I was getting tired of being at around 15% power with about 8 hours of use. My work day usually last anywhere from 8 to 12 hours so I've had to start bringing a power bank to charge the phone back up before my work day ends. The great thing is the G7 didn't take long to charge, 50% from 15% takes about 20 mins, and that's plenty of battery for the rest of the day. Loved the performance from the G7 as it was a big upgrade from my previous Samsung J7.

Abso...

Do you think there is a chance that Samsung will start selling exynos processors?

Yesterday, I saw a few posts that compared Android phones to iPhones and some people in the replies to one of them talked about the processor in the iPhone SE and how it allows Apple to keep the device pretty cheap compared to the snapdragon, so it got me thinking:

is there a chance Samsung will offer the exynos to other companies? I know there is something about Samsung stopping to work on the the custom chips and google wanting their own processor but it can make the mobile processors cheaper...
