Google has failed to solve the Android Update Fragmentation; Treble, APEX, GSIs have not impacted the device ecosystem

It was described as the ["Android upgrade fix"](https://www.computerworld.com/article/3306443/what-is-project-treble-android-upgrade-fix-explained.html) that would change the way Android is updated and rid itself of a plague that's stood the test of time: getting updates into the hands of users, not only faster, but more often. This fix was known as "Treble".

Except, what I just described was actually launched in 2017. [Android Authority at the time wrote an article](https://www.androidauthorit...

PSA: Reddit for Android version 2020.15.2 is the last version to not have the server-side UI change (votes on left, profile pics in thread)

As many other users of the Android Reddit app, I am outraged by the bullshit the devs are pulling with the UI. It is complete nonsense, and almost seems like an April fools joke. So to you, devs - FUCK YOU.

2020.15.2 is the last version with the old UI. You can grab it on apkmirror.com. Unfortunately, they the Reddit app is also using Split APKs, which means Apkmirror is going to shove its proprietary and ad-stuffed installer up your ass.

Exynos 1000 Predictions

Android needs a good competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. Luckily, 2021 is looking to be a game-changing year for Samsung’s mobile chips. Exynos chips were ahead of Snapdragon or at least equal until the Galaxy S8. Now, they’re not as fast as Snapdragon, uses too much power, and generates too much heat. With the supposedly Exynos 1000 (if that is the name), it seems like Samsung is looking to change that with these specs. These are my predictions along with others’ but feel free to add your own....

Google is working too hard, but not smart enough on Android’s gesture navigation

When Apple introduced the gesture navigation system on their iPhones, I was hypnotised at how smooth and seamless it looked in videos, surely enough it’s even better when experienced in person, it feels very polished and surprisingly a natural way to interact with a phone’s user interface. Check out Apple’s talk on the thought process behind their gesture navigation if you’re interested in user interface/experience design: https://youtu.be/gttSJA-kDmQ

Then Android 9 happened, my impression of i...
