Exynos 1000 Predictions

Android needs a good competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. Luckily, 2021 is looking to be a game-changing year for Samsung’s mobile chips. Exynos chips were ahead of Snapdragon or at least equal until the Galaxy S8. Now, they’re not as fast as Snapdragon, uses too much power, and generates too much heat. With the supposedly Exynos 1000 (if that is the name), it seems like Samsung is looking to change that with these specs. These are my predictions along with others’ but feel free to add your own....

Google is working too hard, but not smart enough on Android’s gesture navigation

When Apple introduced the gesture navigation system on their iPhones, I was hypnotised at how smooth and seamless it looked in videos, surely enough it’s even better when experienced in person, it feels very polished and surprisingly a natural way to interact with a phone’s user interface. Check out Apple’s talk on the thought process behind their gesture navigation if you’re interested in user interface/experience design: https://youtu.be/gttSJA-kDmQ

Then Android 9 happened, my impression of i...

Nextbit Robin Review - 4 Years Later

I bought the Robin in 2017 when it was on sale for like $120 as a back up device. I had a Nexus 5x from launch that was repaired twice for bootloop and then in Fall of 2019 no longer had phone service so I dusted off the Robin and have used it since.

Battery Life: The phone was used periodically by other people as a back up phone so maybe there is more wear on it than I would think. But battery life is quite bad. Topping off constantly throughout the day and randomly shutting off at 20 or 30 ...

Let's talk about displays [Discussion]

Displays are one of the first thing we notice on a smartphone and a crucial aspect in a smartphone.

Displays have been on a huge development scale recently and it's great to see newer technology being implemented to improve our content consumption.

So I'd like to ask what are the display tech that according to you are
1. Underrated / Needs to be addressed more.
2. Overrated / Isn't necessary.
3. Something you are eagerly waiting to see.

I'll start
1- the aspect ratio, almost all smartphones...

Unpopular opinion: even if android would run on apple chipset, the performance would be just like a snapdragon

I think it's the OS itself that is inferior and inefficient with the hardware it has access to just like any other open source software. There is a reason why apple remains a close walls, they can make a decision to improve something without having ten different people tell them why they shouldn't go ahead. They make it a standard and it gets adopted industry wide including in the open source community because well, apple did it and people don't seem to care about a flaw that androids would be u...

So much wasted potential

**This is my own opinion so feel free to disagree + This post is just for sharing my opinion nothing more**

I have a Galaxy Note 9 Exynos (I should have chosen the ROG Phone when I had the chance)

Every day every single time I grab my phone I just feel a little bit sad (sometimes angry) because I know for a fact that the hardware this phone has can offer me more, I know this phone and every phone out there have hardware that has the power to do more things and do the things that it's already d...

Depending on how much stock is knocking about:

Sales falloff + Economic downturn = Android Bargains for EMEA consumers?

We might see a mixture of deeper discounts sooner as stock ages or better incentives.
