Why was full-disk encryption removed/disallowed in Android 10??

According to [this page](https://source.android.com/security/encryption/#full-disk):

> Full-disk encryption is not allowed on new devices running Android 10 and higher. For new devices, use file-based encryption.

Does anybody know why full-disk encryption is no longer "allowed"? Could this have anything to do with legislation to create government backdoors? I'm not sure I buy this sentence on the same page:

> While [full-disk encryption] is great for security, it means that most of the core f...

Android's permission system must be improved

Android gives 'permanent' access to the camera and microphone with the user clicks 'allow'. It's better to add options options such as "allow for this session". Otherwise, it's incredibly easy to snoop on users. Moreover, users don't even know when the microphone is being accessed.

Even the file system permission needs a lot of improvement! For an app to access one specific file, we don't need to provide it access to the whole file system. Users may have stored passwords or confidential informa...

TIL: Skip tracks while display is off

While listening to Spotify on my Samsung Note today I noticed I can go to the next track pushing the power button and volume down at the same time. Power an volume up goes to the last track.

Edit: As commentators mentioned: It's a functionality of Samsung's SoundAssistant that I a) didn't know and b) used incorrectly.

I'm stupid....

Is there a Phone making use of multiple cameras?

Hey there guys,

A lot of phones these days come with three or more cameras. My Mi 9T Pro has A normal one, a telephoto one and a wide lens.

However, it just feels like a toy to me. I can't use the different lenses in other apps than the normal camera and why do I even need them? Feels like they wasted money they could have spent on a better vibration motor or sth.

I believe it must be possible to combine shots from different lenses to make a better overall photo, am I right? I rene...
