Samsung shouldn'tbe applauded for extending software updates, that should be a norm regardless everywhere.

Pixels have gotten 3 years of software updates for a while. iPhones get around 5 (but everyone knows that). Samsung is only catching up. It's nothing to celebrate about until they can provide 5 years like Apple, and promise the updates would be more timely....

As a user or as the developer, how do you prefer to pay/be paid: one-time payment, Play Pass, free w/ads or subnoscription?

Obviously most users impulsively will prefer one-time (or free w/ads) the most and subs the least, and developers the opposite, but let's be honest, a couple bucks one-time payment is not long-term sustainable. And especially on Android, we as users have been spoiled not to accept "new version, new payment" like we do in other platforms.

I have a few apps that I'm happy to pay a direct subnoscription/Patreon for (AutoApps & Tasker <3). But I was wondering about other, non-essential but still usef...

There's Plenty of Room at the Top

There is a startling lack of super high spec android phones as the honorary successor to the Note 8/Note 9 line. Samsung has really dropped the ball for us when they streamlined their lines for ops purposes; every handset they release is increasingly generic. Even the Z coming soon doesn't have wow-me specs or an Spen which of all devices come the fuck on that one would ideally suit it.

Why does Google cater to Apple users?

This isn't a hate post or rant but question about how Google does Android business.

Apple does not allow/publish it's apps on Android, so why does Google feel obligated to do so? Google needs to not wall itself off but take a definitive stance it's own brand (Android) oriented eco-system that does not share features with Apple.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to create it's own dominance on the market than the small amount of user data it harvests from Apple users?

I really hope Microsoft actually release more apps for Android now that the Surface Duo is coming out

Microsoft literally made the perfect keyboard back in the Windows Phone days and it annoys me that I can't get it on my Android phone. Swiftkey just isn't as good.

Similarly, why isn't there a Bing maps app on Android? I know we have Here maps app but Bing Maps no longer uses Here Maps data. I just want one unified maps app on my PC and phone and I want one amazing keyboard like the one the Surface Duo will have.
