Ice universe on Twitter: Samsung Display's under-screen camera solution is much ahead of other solutions, and Samsung mobile phones have stricter requirements for under-screen camera effects than other brands. When the two meet, the under-screen camera of the Galaxy S21 is in Schrodinger's cat state

Intresting take on charging battery to 100%

I saw a comment in eli5 sub that talks about charging a battery to 100, thought I wanted to share here where most people advice to charge between 20-80%

> Nothing charges to 100 since 2015. What you read as 100 is actually slightly below the batter's rated voltage for exactly that reason. Charge to a hundred all you want. Leave it on the charge cable, the engineers know what they're doing

> Edit: Yes, naysayers. Your opinion is noted, stop sending me threatening messages. Follow the sources, W...

Disable back gesture on the left side (Android 11)

After updating to Android 11 I noticed that there is an option in settings to set the back gesture sensitivity. There are separate sliders for left and right. So I did some digging around the apk file for Settings and found the two options that set the width of the area.

Running `adb shell settings put secure back_gesture_inset_scale_left 0` turns off the left side, allowing normal use of hamburger menus. This was the only thing keeping me from using the gestures so I decided to share it with o...

Many Android and iPhone apps simply ignore user privacy requests, study finds. When they respond, they mostly do so in a flawed way, including severe security violations and deceptive statements.

Screen Ratios - 20:9??? Bring back the "GIRTH"!!!

Hi all, long time Android user and have always edged on the side of bigger phones/screens ever since the days of the Samsung Note 2 (or II to be precise!).

My question/discussion/topic is not necessarily about screen size, or screen to body ratio but more about screen width (when holding the device in portrait).

Over the last 10 years or so I've jumped around devices (every 4-6 months approx) but what stands out is the devices I've gone back to, I've owned various Note 4's & Mate 9's, and I'm ...

Google Assistant: Still unable to report air quality on its own.

We've had 3 really bad summers/falls of wildfires in California now and we're entering our fourth consecutive year. One thing I have noticed is throughout the years, Assistant struggles with displaying air quality.

Today I tested Siri vs. Alexa vs Assistant and [**here are the results**](https://i.imgur.com/rlPGVTH.png):

* Siri & Alexa: No issues at all.
* Google Assistant: Asks you to connect to a 3rd party app which must be fed a location and cannot use your current location. This is a margi...

Hiding the 3 dot navigation bar on android 11 [root]

So for those who like to use 3rd party gesture navigation apps like myself you probably found yourself sol on android 11 because you can't hide the 3 button nav bar. Well with root you can.

What's needed
- Magisk
- the "Magiskhide Props Config" module
- a terminal emulator such as termux

Onto the steps.
- switch nav to 3 button nav in settings.
- Install the mod and reboot.
- open up termux and type in `su` and hit enter and grant it root perms.
- copy and paste this `prop...

Get the new Google Pay UI now

I've found a way to (almost always) get the new Pay UI now.

It might require multiple attempts, but it's worked for a few people now.

1. Uninstall Pay
2. Head here: [https://myaccount.google.com/deleteservices](https://myaccount.google.com/deleteservices)
3. Delete Google Pay from your account
4. Reinstall Pay
5. Tada!...
