Are high-speed/high-capacity (A1, A2, U3) microSD cards worth it for Android? With Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals coming up, I (re)tested 5 of those and 2 older ones in 3 quite different Android phones

After recently acquiring a 1TB microSD card in a pre-Black Friday deal, I decided to re-test [my collection](https://imgur.com/a/RjQBa1a) of larger/faster microSD cards. I have done Androbench memory benchmark posts before in [2019](https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv20/comments/bpq09x/fast_512gb_microsdcx_just_got_more_affordable/) and [2018](https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv20/comments/9zgb18/benchmarking_fast_and_big_microsdxc_cards_in_the/) using my LG V20. This time I was curious how much the Android p...

How to retain Free Unlimited "High Quality" Google Photos Backup past June 2021.

Warning - This requires rooting your device with Magisk (and hence an unlocked bootloader, probably voiding your device's warranty and a bit of research and technical know how as well)

Side note (You may not read this paragraph) - So I was frustrated on Google's new policy about how they are removing Free Unlimited High Quality Backup from Non Pixel devices to strengthen their Pixel Lineup. Well beans be spilled I'mma great fan of Pixel's stock Android user experience but not of their high Pric...

3 worst things about Google stopping it's unlimited photos storage...

1) Quality: Many of us got our photos compressed to lower quality because we were getting free unlimited storage. If we knew google was gonna stop the unlimited storage this soon, we would have thought about keeping photos at original quality.

2) Privacy: They promised free unlimited storage and so many of us forgo our privacy, we all know google used our images to strengthen their AI to make their search feature (google photos search feature) so strong. Now that their search feature is strong ...

What was the worst Android phone you owned?

Personally, the LG G3. It was a hot mess! The phone overheated all the time. The Android Lolipop update made the phone run like crap. Battery life was like 2-3 hrs SOT. Ended up buying a ZeroLemon battery case to make it last the day. Turned off LG phones for me ever since....

Galaxy Note 9 just got updated with wireless DEX support.

Just had an update pop up on my Note 9. Samsung seems to have updated the phone to include wireless DEX. I thought that was one of the big selling points of the Note 20 though?...

Either way, I don't have any TV to test it out with so I can't say how well it works....

Is Samsung the only Android Manufacturer without a single flop that wasn’t made right?

I was on the worst Android phone you ever owned thread and got to thinking that every manufacturer has at least one phone on that list.

However, I think Samsung has really done a great job avoiding that mostly. The only Samsung phone that flopped was the infamous Note 7 with batterygate. However, Samsung made that right and refunded everyone once the issue was discovered. It was a $100 million+ mistake, but they fixed it the right way by taking blame and refunding customers.

Samsung has been...

Spotify now recognizes artist names on text selection and provides a shortcut

https://i.imgur.com/tm6DX11.png

This is interesting... This has to be done entirely offline and in-device so Spotify now includes a list of the most popular artists, and everytime you select text including their names, it shows a shortcut to open the artist page on the app....
