Neat Samsung feature: the screenshot cropper will snap to layout bounds

When you take a screenshot on a Samsung phone, [a small editor bar pops up](https://i.imgur.com/1Z5bXga.jpg) so you can annotate or crop the screenshot. But I think the One UI 2.5 update (or its November 2020 patch) makes cropping even better. When you drag the crop handles, they will snap it to the layout bounds of the app. [Here's the bounds of an app](https://i.imgur.com/qNbnh4N.jpg) and [here's how it snapped to the top 2 list items](https://i.imgur.com/nu9UsJU.jpg). It seems to prefer s...

If gestures are the future, other app devs should use Snapchat as an example, their design is very natural and smooth with animations

I feel like they really nailed the gestures down and have done for a while.. while other apps are trying to go the "gesture" route but aren't 100% committing to it meaning half of the app has gestures and half doesn't (youtube) or the app animations just aren't as smooth as they could be

The main apps that I wish nailed down gestures (especially with tall phones) these days are:

* Spotify (Its a shame cause they have nailed it (from my very little experience) on ios but on android they ...

I took some photos with my midrange camera and compared them to my Pixel 5

**Preamble**
I went to the park earlier and decided to do my own comparison between the Pixel 5 and my dedicated camera, just for fun.

I'm not even an amateur photographer, I mainly take photos of my kids. In low light and fast moving action, the dedicated camera is no contest, but just for general holiday snaps:

The camera is an Olympus OMD10 with a 20mm F1.7 lens. I used to have a DSLR but sold it in favour of size. This combo can be had for about £500-600. Similar price to the ...

TIP: I found a way to use Google Assistant to turn on and off a Magic Home Smartbulb without needing to unlock the phone first. Sharing here in case it helps anyone else.

The Magic Home smartbulbs are cheap, and generally work well. I can lay in bed and, *if the phone is unlocked*, say "Turn on Lamp" and it turns on the floor lamp I have placed on the other side of the room.

But the phone has to be unlocked, which makes it *hugely* less convenient. I can't just be laying in bed with the phone charging on the nightstand and give it the command. Google Assistant will say "Sure. But you have to unlock the phone first." Then I have to roll over, fumble in the dark, ...
