Am I the only who doesn't really like OLED?

OLED is very popular right now and most people will almost always consider it when buying a new phone, now hear me out, I do agree that OLED has punchy colors, deep blacks, nice contrast BUT at times the blacks are just too deep it destroys the shadow. Movies with night scene are so hard to see because of this and there seems to be some kind of color banding....

Why don't Phone manufacturers just stick to Stock U.I if that is what everyone wants?

I always wonder for Phone manufacturers like Xiaomi who always use a heavily customized version of Android for running their Phones, why do they do that? What is the incentive for putting efforts over customizing Android and implementing Custom ROM on their phones only to be looked down upon by majority? Isn't it pure wastage of resources only to be criticized at last

Generally I see majority praising a Phone more which provides an experience closer to Stock Android so what is the point behind...

Before deciding on your current phone, which others were on your shortlist?

The Oneplus 9 announcements reminded me that I seriously considered getting the OP7Pro, along with Galaxy Note 9, Xiaomi Mi 9T, and Nubia Z20. My search criteria on gsmarena was "notchless OLED".

Price, updates, and local warranty were the crucial factors why the other phones ultimately didn't get the rose. The Mi 9T woulda been the one if they officially sold them in Canada, though I think about "What coulda been" with the Note 9 the most.
