Before deciding on your current phone, which others were on your shortlist?

The Oneplus 9 announcements reminded me that I seriously considered getting the OP7Pro, along with Galaxy Note 9, Xiaomi Mi 9T, and Nubia Z20. My search criteria on gsmarena was "notchless OLED".

Price, updates, and local warranty were the crucial factors why the other phones ultimately didn't get the rose. The Mi 9T woulda been the one if they officially sold them in Canada, though I think about "What coulda been" with the Note 9 the most.

The Notch: marketing and buyers going mad?

Few days ago I decided, because of battery end of life issue, to change my phone (a Galaxy S8).

So for the first time in years, I checked all the recent phones on the market.

I was horrified to see the phone offer. The jack is dissappearing (but this is another topic), and now... Every phone has a f#### hole in the screen.
