Pixel 5 vs dedicated camera - Night sight (Computational photography)

Was curious how good Googles night sight performed vs a modern dedicated camera in terms of getting a usable Jpeg. Computational photography can do very impressive things, the stacking and long exposures are sure impressive.



This isn't a scientific test, I just thought it was interesting comparing googles night sight against a dedicated camera that has a decent IBIS to allow longer exposures handheld.

On the pixel I just shot with nightsight on, keeping the phone as steady as possible...

Under-display fingerprint scanners are a mistake

I got my first phone with under-display fingerprint scanner a few days ago and it sucks. I didn't think it would bother me that much and I'm sure I could get used to it but it's definitely an inferior experience compared to the fingerprint readers on the back of the device. They always work and the display is already unlocked before I can even look the phone.

I really think the under-display tech is one of those features that were just invented to have something new on the spec sheet and not b...
