Android should have native support for IoT and ITTT style interactions

(To the mods: I believe this counts as a "discussion promoting rant").

Despite all of this talk of the IoT... things just... don't work together. Still. In 2021. It's getting better, with things like Thread and ZB3.0, but if we want smart stuff to ever be better than a remote control(I am not convinced this will actually happen....), we need some standards for what happens once the the data is actually on a device.

Samsung smartwatches plain suck compared to the competition

I recently switched from my Samsung Galaxy Watch Active to a Garmin fenix 5 Plus. I picked up the fenix used from Craigslist for 250 bucks.

The difference im utility is insane. The Samsung Watch needs to be recharged every day, the Garmin like once a week. Sleep tracking on the Samsung is therefore also useless because when are you going to charge it for two hours? FIX Google Backup - Couldn't backup try again later

So yeah, the error is pretty random, may come from device lock or app bugging, i just don't know. Anyway, just turn off google backup, a dialog will ask you if you're sure you want to disable google backup, say yes. Reboot, then enable it again.

It should be fixed by now, it worked for me after a lot of other (even advanced) fixes around the internet...

I kinda miss the #HoloYolo days

I've been recently on a nostalgia trip. It's crazy to think I've been with Android for almost 10 years, my first phone had Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) and I loved it so much, everything intrigued me, specially the UI.

And it wasn't just me, you could feel a passion in the community, every once in a while there was a Google+ Hangout LIVE (remember those?) from the Android Team, with the task of adjusting apps to the Holo guidelines, that's when the #HoloYolo was born.
