Xiaomi's Gallery app is keeping all the pics as cache, even the ones you deleted

It's easy to find. In your internal storage go to:

Android/data/com.miui.gallery/files/gallery_disk_cache/small_size

and

Android/data/com.miui.gallery/files/gallery_disk_cache/full_size

Xiaomi's Gallery app keeps every picture there as cache, even the pictures you deleted. Downloaded images, images sent and received through apps, Whatsapp stickers etc. I had thousands of pictures there, some I have deleted more than a year ago.

I've just found out this problem, but I'm pr...

This PLAY STORE app is able to intercept the "clear data" command and cancel it on a ROOTLESS stock phone!

Like per the noscript, This PLAY STORE app is able to intercept the "clear data" command and cancel it on a ROOTLESS stock phone! This is not normal and it should not be allowed. I've tried reverse engineering the application but in my short analysis I've found nothing that could indicate me on how it's happening. I've also found no trace of the only intent that could even be related (aka ACTION_PACKAGE_DATA_CLEARED)

I've...

PSA: Markup tool destroys your images. Photos messes up the file modification date

Just wanted to have a little PSA that Google's Markup tool destroys your image quality.

It does not matter how much or how little you edit, the moment you save the image using the Markup tool, the quality is destroyed.

Here are some examples:

Original image

Edited using the Markup tool. The image is downsized, EXIF is stripped and the quality is heavily degraded.

Digital Chat Station hints at the revival of the Oppo N series

Source (mobile link since desktop requires sign in)

If I'm not mistaken, the Oppo N3 was the first device with a rotating camera. The product page is still up if you want to take a look. It also had the coolest notification light at the bottom (called Skyline Notification) that you could see from both sides of the phone. Instead of flashing, it pulses

It also reminds me of the Oppo Find 7 (the phone the One...

US How to get a Galaxy Z Flip3 for ~$250 on AT&T

I've not seen a lot of talk about AT&T's current deal they have going on regarding both new Galaxy Z devices. I'll be focusing on the Flip for this post, but this deal also applies to the Fold.

The deal: Get a Flip3 for free with eligible trade-in

Now normally, when you see "eligible trade in", you think something crazy like iPhone 12 Pro Max or S21 Ultra, but that's not the case here. Several phones are eligible for the $1,000 trade-in, including the (OnePlus 7T)https:/...

The battery indicator on Android is still missing, even in 2021

What is stoping Android from enabling battery health indicator like the one which we have on iOS? Apple introduced the battery indicator with their iPhone 6 in 2014 if I am not wrong. Its been 7 years there's no sign of it on Android. Anyways you can use the Accubattery app for this functionality but why can't this be baked into the software. Surpriingly Google also didn't think about introducing this feature in their Pixel lineup. Just why??...
