Discussion about Google's Find My Device service

Google's "Find My Device" service is really bad in my opinion. Reasons:

- It only works if Location is enabled in the device. You could argue that this is logical, but it completely defeats the purpose if I lose my phone while Location is disabled. If I'm using the service, then I have already signed into the Google account, and I have access to all the Google data including location history, so I don't see a reason to prevent finding the device. They could at least give users an option in the ...

What phones are most likely to get Material You?

- OnePlus 9
- Samsung Galaxy S21
- Xiaomi Mi 11...

What Reddit app do you use? Why? Mid-2021 Edition

Hi! This is a follow up from this previous one. 2020 and 2021 have been shaky years privacy-wise, considering Apple's tracker policy, external intervention in Reddit and expanding Chinese-manufacturer influence over the smartphone market. Perhaps some of these things have made you change apps or, otherwise, go back to the official one.

I've just been on the site for a couple of years and haven'...

Detect apps that slow down your phone

Today i removed WPS office suite after I noticed that it creates a shortcut to its 'notes' sub-app when selecting some text resulting in a much quicker phone overall.
I see that google translate offers the same kind of shortcut although it looks like it does not affect performances (google might be more experienced at writing apps for Android :-)

I was wondering if there is way to detect apps that make your phone slower, besides bad reviews about apps.
Maybe the play store might alert the possi...
