Android isn't laggy on high-end devices, but they end up exuding a sense of slowness and unreliability. That's too much, even for power users.

Seeing the cinematic mode on the new iPhone 13 prompted me to think about this.

I remember upgrading from a severely underpowered old Samsung A series to the S10. My old phone took ages to open chrome or the weather app. Opening the app drawer to get to the calculator was a pain. When you opened the multi tasking app carousell, you never knew how long it would take to open.

You can read Youtube comments even in full-screen mode now!

Going full-screen when the comments are open, gives this split view. I think it is cool.

Discussion: Why Android is losing market share in >400$ segment?

Global premium smartphone (>400$) Q2 2020 vs Q2 2021

As we can see, Android companies had 52% market share in previous year, where in Q2 2021, the market share was 43% (-8% than the last year). This could be due to Huawei backing out, but I believe that's not the only case.

What's your take on this?...

Cards & passes should be separate from Google Pay and be available to everyone

Especially in these times, showing a QR code on your phone should be easy and quickly accessible, right? Loyalty cards, cinema tickets, COVID vaccination proof etc."Well just use the cards and passes section in your power menu/on your lockscreen" people say. But, if you're, like me, living in Austria, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, or Romania, you're out of luck!
