Google Pixel 6 Pro Pros&Cons coming from Oneplus 7 Pro

Pros

The design is unique, and I like it. I have the Sorta Sunny variant, and fingerprints are not that visible, but I would've preferred a matte version or at least frosted glass on the back.
Screen is better than the one on 7 Pro. Colours are more vivid, and I can feel the difference going from 90hz to 120Hz.

Android 12 runs smooth. Had no performance issues so far.

Cameras are very good. Post-processing is top-notch, less noise comparing to the 7 Pro even when taking zoomed-in ...

Guide How to fix horrible handling of links on Android 12

As many have noticed, Android 12 changed the handling of
links significantly.
1. You now have to choose your default web browser. If you don't, it will automatically select Chrome.
2. Only "verified links" (new feature in Android 12) can be opened in external apps. Everything else will always open your default web browser, unless you manually approve each link in settings.
3. You can't allow multiple apps to handle the same link (if it was approved manually by you, at least), which means ...

With Android 12 officially released no one is talking about how Material You will fit into 3rd party apps?

One of the things I've been thinking about lately is basically that Material You really only fits into existing ecosystem because most of the apps updated are just basic tools. For the most part, they're pretty much all just apps that don't really need a distinctive brand identity, things like clocks or a gallery or phone app.

Even if they do have something distinctive like Gmail, it doesn't really matter because you're already familiar with them.

PSA: Typing indicators showing up in Google Chat as of today

I and several of my friends noticed that typing indicators have started showing in group chats in Google Chat. Now if we can just get read receipts in group chats as well we'd be approaching parity with Hangouts for most of the functionality that I care about. Progress!...
