Wiko Life 3 review - Surprisingly not that bad for a free phone

When I was in need of phone service in August, I got an iPhone 6 phone from Cintel Wireless. And, frankly, it sucked. From the phone itself to the service, it was pretty bad. So I switched to Assurance Wireless in November, and I received a Wiko Life 3.

From the moment you open the box, you know this isn't gonna be a phone that can compete with the offerings from carriers like MetroPCS. But Wiko does a good job bringing a bit of style to the table. The dark blue textured back feels nice in my h...

Thoughts on using the new Pixel 6 Pro

I've owned the Pixel 2, Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL, and now the Pixel 6 Pro. Before that I had the iPhone 3G, 4, 5, and 6.

Overall I'm enjoying the new phone but here are some thoughts I had on the new Pixel 6 Pro after upgrading from Pixel 4 XL.

1. Why did they remove face unlock? They add fingerprint back but removed face unlock. Why is every Google phone so inconsistent from one another? I don't see Apple doing that with their iPhones. Super annoying. Same with Soli radar. It was supposed to be...

Advanced swipe gesture shortcuts to perform a set of actions, using Tasker.

# • Preface

Before getting my hands on Pixel 6, I was using a Samsung Galaxy S8 running on an Android 10 custom ROM. Samsung provides an advanced, and very useful app called **Good Lock**, in which the "One Hand Operation +" feature helps us to set up upto freaking 36 number of swipe gesture shortcuts, from the left and right (top, center and bottom) sides of the screen, irrespective of which scre...

What happened to the old Custom ROM scene?

I remember the Android modding scene in 2011 was quite vibrant, with a ton of new Android versions ported to other devices.

LineageOS has the same thing, and the GSis are a new development that has enabled ROMs to come to other devices, bit there are still a ton of abandoned/dead ROMs. I know there are volunteer projects that can only go on for so long, but what else contributed to Custom ROMS becoming more niche?...

S21 5G Android Auto January 2022

Hey everyone,

Wanted to share a quick fix I encountered with my new s21 and android auto.

Bought the phone a few days ago from bell, everything works and the phone seems great. Problem I encountered was connecting android auto with my 2019 ram.

A temporary fix I found was, keeping my usb plugged into the truck as well plugged into the phone, then restart the phone.

Once the phone had started up, unlocked the phone then it was asking for permissions via andorid auto to the truck. I was ...

Don't skimp on RAM, when skimping on an Android phone.

Last year, I've had the chance to own both Redmi 7A and 9A, both with 2GB and 3 (7A) or 4GB (9A) of RAM. Both with a low-end SoC, and slower eMMC (compared to UFS).

With 2GB of RAM, both were very laggy. I had to either settle with lite version of apps (like Facebook Lite), or just use the web browser to do everything else. That's to make the phone usable. There are times, where I'm tempted to throw them at the wall.

With 3 or 4GB of RAM, the difference are night and day. Even with normal vers...

A piece of news about Xiaomi phones

Some users found that “this system cooperates with the National Anti-Fraud Center” on the introduction page of the miui13 system of Xiaomi mobile phones. Some Xiaomi users understood it as-the latest miui system has a built-in “National Anti-Fraud Center app”, and they worry about themselves For privacy and personal safety, I think this built-in behavior is very similar to the "telescreen" mentioned in the novelist George Orwell's work "1984". This piece sparked discussion among netizens. In a...

Should you buy the new super-expensive Galaxy Z Fold3 5G? Yes, if you want to be a step ahead

The Galaxy Z Fold3 (5G) might be worth it depending on your needs and expectations.
From my own experience and similar reviews I read around, it depends on whether you’re looking for a portable tablet without buying one on top of your mobile phone.

It comes with a 6′2′’ screen folded, which shows a 7′6′’ display upon unfolding.
The real deal with this phone is the convenient multi-tasking set-ups and the powerful hardware.

It’s a strategical choice when, for example, you need to work a lot on ...
