Android needs an app permission between allow 'access to all files' and 'allow access to media only'

Something so the app can see anything in the downloads folder but not grant it permission to look anywhere.

This came about when I was looking for an .ogx file I downloaded. Android doesn't recognize it as media, so it wouldn't let VLC have access to it with default 'media only' access.

The only option for VLC to see the file was to grant VLC access to ALL files on my device, which is far too broad in my view considering VLC has had some past security issues ( https://us.blastingnews.com/tec...

In what areas and features has your phone fully replaced your PC?

As in, you used to use your PC for that, but now you only use your phone and never use your PC for that anymore. Not counting the obvious features like calling and messaging.

For me, it's the torrents. I realized this a while ago that I used to use my PC to torrent... Linux distros. But now it's my phone, I don't use or have any torrenting application on my PC. A smartphone is so much more convenient as it's always on and I don't have to leave it on overnight like with a PC and it handles every...

Big YouTube reviewers don't criticize enough anymore.

I just watched MKBHD's OnePlus 10 Pro impressions .

He mentioned that the ultra wide camera is "new" , but he never mentioned that it is actually a worse sensor than last year (it's a 1/2.7" , last year was a 1/1.57ish) .

When it comes to the snapdragon 8 gen 1 , he said that it is similar to the 888 on performance , but with more GPU, AI power .
He did not criticize the fact that the next generation chip has almost 0 CPU upgrades , is almost just as bad in battery effeciency , gets hot etc...
