Why isn't the lifecycle of Android phones as good as that of a PC?

I understand that the hardware of the smartphone might not be good enough for newer versions. But let compare smartphones with PCs. That is true that eventually a PC cannot upgrade to the latest Windows but at least the life cycle of a PC is much longer. I bought a Lenovo laptop (core i7-4700mq) in 2014 for 550 Euros (No installed OS) and currently it runs Windows 10 smoothly. Thoughts on Pixel and Galaxy's

I've owned every pixel except for the pixel 3, skipped it to try the OnePlus 6t. I liked the 6t and the feeling of older Android customization. In the last couple of months I wanted to do a little Battery Life Experiment on my Google Pixel 4a. So, first I regularly updated my phone to Android 12 and noticed that I lost about 1 hour of battery life compared to Android 11. On Android 12 I hardly got 3,5 hours of screen-on-time.
