Just switched from S20FE to Pixel 7

Wanted to give some impressions I've had since I started tinkering with the Pixel. It's my first time with Pixel phones, I was pretty much full into the Samsung ecosystem.

I had no trouble transferring everything by connecting the two phones during setup. Took about 20 minutes.

The phone feels nice, but somehow the screen felt less “premium” than Samsung's. I did notice the difference between S20FE's 120Hz and Pixel's 90Hz, but I got used to it pretty fast and it stopped bothering me. I will h...

Unpopular Opinion: Didn’t enjoy switching from android to iphone

I’ve been an android user all my life and just recently bought an iphone 14 pro max because of the dynamic island. I thought it was such a great idea for iphone and a big leap from them cause they usually just upgrade the camera, no major updates, imo.

Im using the iphone for a lil more than a month now and i am still missing A LOT of android functionalities: (1) in android, when you set an alarm, it tells you how many hrs or mins away it is until the alarm (2) cant toggle between front and r...

HOW TO ACCESS ANDROID DATA FOLDER EASILY ANDROID 11 AND ABOVE

First what you want to do is download (from the play store not as an apk) Dolphin Emulator. When it's downloaded, open the app. In the top right hand corner, click the settings icon. Click config. Scroll down to the very bottom and click "User data". It should bring up a screen with three options. You will want to click "Open System file Manager". Then you will be able to access the data folder (and any other folder android has restricted access to)....

How many years in average do you use an Android phone?

All my smartphones were and are Androids. I really like the openness of the system and everything is intuitive by now for me.

What really bothers me is the short longevity compared to the iPhones that manufacturers push nowadays. I'm really considering getting an iPhone due to the reports of people using them for more than 3 years which is my Android average before the phone gets laggy and the new feature supports end.

What is your average and do you consider some other options?...

T95 Android TV (Allwinner H616) includes malware right out-of-the-box

A few months ago I purchased a T95 Android TV box; it came with Android 10 (with working Play store) and an Allwinner H616 processor. It's a small-ish black box with a blue swirly graphic on top and a digital clock on the front. There's got to be thousands (or more!) of these boxes already in use globally.

There are tons of them available for purchase on Amazon

What are your most important apps?

As the noscript says, what are your most important apps. These are apps that you simply cannot function without. There either is no other app in this category or this app does something so good, you simply can't substitute it with something else (please specify why).

You can include official apps of services if you want, like banking or a cloud service (LIFX, etc.). But you are most likely using the app because you want to avail of the service itself, unless the app is something amazing. For examp...

Launcher apps developed by "Yobi Mobi" taking over phones and abusing system privileges

Hey everyone!

I work in the cellular industry (+ am a decade long Android enthusiast) and have been noticing an urgent issue with a dev on the Play Store for the last 6 months that has received no attention thus far from Google.

Essentially, an app developer by the name of "Yobi Mobi" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7738048749662331558&hl=en\_US&gl=US) has developed a slew of fake launcher applicatio...
