After using the Bellroy leather case on the Pixel 7 for only 4 months, it is already tearing and peeling and Bellroy support says this is "not a manufacturing fault". Be warned about this product.

I bought a Pixel 7 Pro in October and my wife bought a regular Pixel 7. We both decided to splurge on a better case this time around and went with the Bellroy leather cases. These cases are $60 each, so about $120 in total.

After only 4 months of standard, regular use, BOTH of our cases have started to tear and peel at the corners. See images here: https://imgur.com/a/rwMNpyQ

Given this product was $60 and only lasted 4 months, I thought clearly this should be co...

Real users go off-grid! (c'mon Google)

Can Google engineers stop pretending that all its users are connected to the grid all the time? Not everyone lives in California, and some grid dependencies range from annoying to dangerous. Two recent examples:

1) I was using Google Maps recently to navigate to a wilderness destination. I had the route set and could see it all while on grid. I never closed Maps, but shortly after leaving network service, Maps lost the route and was totally useless. I would have been completely lost had I not h...

S23 ultra fingerprint sensor is still rubbish.

In 2023, top of the line androids which cost the same as best iPhone still cannot outmatch an iPhone 4 at quickly and easily unlocking a screen.

Not even going to bother with the face id parody which doesn't even pretend to be as good as apple's so the ridiculous underscreen sensor is the only option.

I'm not sure why android manufactures went away from actual fingerprint sensors, it must be a dislike for all the things that actually work well. Also not sure why everyone is fine with the abs...

How to enable Samsung's Pause USB Power Delivery setting

**Samsung, if you're reading this, add this to device care to use system wide. You could market it as a setting that extends battery longevity which can reduce e-waste. Even better, this could breathe new life into devices with degraded batteries, allowing you to safely use them plugged in all the time.**

#Requirements

* Samsung Galaxy S22 or newer*
* USB PD PPS charger* (I used a 25 W one)
* Any game installed
* Game Launcher enabled (Settings -> Advanced features)
* Fast charging enabled (Se...

Google should introduce a 'remote desktop' feature into Android.

Doing tech support over the phone can be complicated, especially with each Android manufacturers having their own unique skins (One UI, MIUI, ColorOS, AOSP, etc). Whenever I had to help someone over the phone, it would take me 10-20 minutes to have the other person (especially if it's an elderly or a person whose not good at directions) change a setting. If I could control their phone, I could do it within 5 minutes, max.

I want basically AnyDesk or Teamviewer built into Android. Whenever someo...

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Review (5 Months)

Hello all. I made a post a few months back on r/GalaxyFold about a Z Fold 4 review and well, here it is. It took me a while to get it together, life happened and kept me occupied for a bit. In this review I focused on my experience with the phone, specially when compared to its predecessor.

I talk about the usual build, screen, camera, battery, software, etc. I do however, go in depth on the minor, less noticeable changes as well as going into the annoyan...

flash.android.com fails at flashing step - Probably this is the reason

I ran into this issue just now while trying to revert from CalyxOS to Stock Android using the Android Device Flasher from Google. It doesn't tell you to do this on the website so probably a lot of people forget about it. If someone has the same issue I hope they can find this post via Google.

To make it short: Check whether you have the SIM card in the device. You need to take it out before starting the process. Do that and start again. If your device is factory reset, run through the setup...

Tip: if you add to a list and the assistant is splitting things up when it shouldn't, use a slash in between the subjects

I just added something to a home improvement list: shower caddy guest bathroom.

The assistant split that up into three things. I wanted it to be one thing. When that happens just put a slash in between things like: shower/caddy/guest bathroom. The assistant won't break it up into three items. Really helpful if you're in the car and need to add something to a to-do list....
