Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Review (5 Months)

Hello all. I made a post a few months back on r/GalaxyFold about a Z Fold 4 review and well, here it is. It took me a while to get it together, life happened and kept me occupied for a bit. In this review I focused on my experience with the phone, specially when compared to its predecessor.

flash.android.com fails at flashing step - Probably this is the reason

I ran into this issue just now while trying to revert from CalyxOS to Stock Android using the Android Device Flasher from Google. It doesn't tell you to do this on the website so probably a lot of people forget about it. If someone has the same issue I hope they can find this post via Google.

To make it short: Check whether you have the SIM card in the device. You need to take it out before starting the process. Do that and start again. If your device is factory reset, run through the setup...

Tip: if you add to a list and the assistant is splitting things up when it shouldn't, use a slash in between the subjects

I just added something to a home improvement list: shower caddy guest bathroom.

The assistant split that up into three things. I wanted it to be one thing. When that happens just put a slash in between things like: shower/caddy/guest bathroom. The assistant won't break it up into three items. Really helpful if you're in the car and need to add something to a to-do list....

If anyone is having IMEI problems with the trade in on Samsung.com this worked for me.

If you have a phone that you did not purchase from the same carrier that you are trying to do a trade-in credit for Samsung's website will fail the verification. The website will only check the IMEI database of the carrier whose network you currently are on. It will not check the database for unlocked phones Samsung sold themselves or other carriers. Throttling test shows the Vivo X90 dominating even though they both use the same chip. Seems like the S23U cooling system is lackluster compared to other manufacturers.

What's your take on Wireless Charging?

Is it really a deal breaker if your phone doesn't have it why or why not? I really don't get the hype behind it more heat and slower charging is there something I'm missing here? They have cases with magsafe like magnets for Android phones. So the argument of needing one while driving for mounting is kinda dead you can still mount and keep your phone charging with a regular cable. Seems like a scam to me....

Didn't bother showing this off before, but here's a look at the cloud media app settings page in MediaProvider. This page is only visible when a CMP is set, though currently, I haven't found an app that implements it. Sadly, Google Photos doesn't seem to support it either. - Mishaal Rahman (thread)
