Geometric Weather an Awesome Lightweight Weather App

You can find it here

Sleek and beautiful. Comes with hundreds of widget variation. Far better than the paid apps like Overdrop I was using previously. Also does not contain google trackers, unlike Overdrop.

I find it hilarious that I paid for a inefficient, battery-drain, that spies on me to boot. Consider supporting the project. Geometric weather will definitely be my weather app of choice for the foreseeable future...

Those with foldable phones: Do you like it? Is it worth it? How likely are you to stay on a foldable phone in the future?

I'm curious, because this is a relatively mature feature by now, but I personally don't see the point. But I want to! I'm really curious about what the folding phone experience is like for those who love theirs....

What happened to android oem flavors and excitement for UI?

I remember the days of early android where people were hard at work porting Mi UI, Sense, Flyme OS and others to different phones. They all had their unique features and styles and people wanted to try something new.

Increased popularity of the Nexus/Pixel line and hatred for Touchwiz I feel forced most manufacturers to stock android.

Looking at the players of early android days Moto has gone straight to stock, Samsung is the least like stock but has definitely toned it down, HTC is gone, pret...

S23 Battery Life so far

Hey All!

For those thinking of getting the base s23.

Battery life so far is amazing. Its about the same as my work phone - A53

- Have the adaptive screen refresh rate on 120hz
- Bluetooth on all the time
- Used moderately (Social Media, youtube and some mobile games)

My Old personal is a s10e Exynos which has terrible battery life.

Im a fan of compact phones but I prefer larger ones for Battery life.

S23 hits both requirements!

Google engineer plans 3GPP Release 16 5G as an Android U feature for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8

The Pixel 7 doesn't support 3GPP Release 16 5G features like practically every other 2022 flagship. Release 16 includes power-saving, unlicensed spectrum access, and a number of 5G bands the phone is missing.

A Google engineer in the below bug offered a surprising statement:

"Currently, Pixel7 would be R15 for initial launch. 3GPP Release 16 will plan in Android U release."

The best latest (2022-23) Budget Phone below $300 with a headphone jack.

First things first, I'll discuss the criteria and the process on how I ended up with the list:

1. Should be a recent release (2022-2023)

2. Price cap at $300, anything past that and anything that's below $200 is ignored

3. 8GB RAM or more

4. A minimum of at least 4000mAh Battery

5. There should be a Headphone Jack, imagine buying an incomplete phone

Research Process:

First step is forming a list of outliers that'd commonly appear on the searches; Googling 2022 best phones...

Does Anyone Find The Android 13 Battery Usage More Messy Than Android 12's?

I wished it focused on the battery usage from last charge, instead of usage by day (especially if you just want to glance the overall across 2 days on a single charge).

Here's an example of my stats for Saturday crossing into Sunday:

Screenshot 1

Screenshot 2

With Android 13, I now have to manually add the usage for 2 days. As well as separately add my SOT for 2 days - which I never had to back in Android 12.

Now, I don't...
