u/ibreakphotos sent a very interesting test regarding the AI used for Samsung moon photos. Did the same test on my Pixel 7 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max to prove they’re onto something.

The original post in question. Again, credit to u/ibreakphotos for the idea and test.

TLDR is that they noticed Samsung was artificially adding detail to moon photos (that isn’t physically there) to make them look better. They simply used a blurry image of the moon and got this result.

Now, I’ve taken many moon ph...

Update to the Samsung "space zoom" moon shots are fake

There were some great suggestions in the comments to my original post and I've tried some of them, but the one that, in my opinion, really puts the nail in the coffin, is this one:

I photoshopped one moon next to another (to see if one moon would get the AI treatment, while another would not), and managed to coax the AI to do exactly that.

This is the image that I used, which contains 2 blurred moons: https://imgur.com/kMv1XAx

I replicated my original setup, shot the monitor from across the r...

Read deleted messages/notifications via notification log file on Samsung @ Android 10

If you want to see deleted Pushnotifications (and deleted WhatsApp messages as well), you need to find the notification log file from Android.

Since I found no way after an hour of research for my Galaxy A7 with Android 10, I figured out a way myself.

1. Install the app Activity Launcher from Playstore.

2. Open the app and search for "notification log".

3. You should see the point "notification log" under the point "Settings".

4. By clicking it the Settings app will open up and show you the...

Google Play Store: "Ratings are based on recent reviews from people in your region"

I'm not sure if this might already be common knowledge, but I was very surprised when I stumbled across this today.

Google Play Store app ratings vary depending on which country you're in!

Here's an example with a vitamin tracking app:

https://imgur.com/a/Dg0tafG

In the US Play Store the app has a rating of 3.8 stars. In the German Play Store it's only 2.8, and in the British Play Store it's even 4.5 stars. In the French Play Store, on the other hand, there is no rating at al...

My take on the fake moon from Samsung

Just wanted to add some stuff on this "hot" topic.

In short, I managed to obtain a moon by starting with something that isn't even a moon.

I just made a white circle in Photoshop and brushed it a little. Then I also rotated it and created artifacts that would never appear on the moon (through clone-stamp tool).

The picture VS the result

More details, including the files and a video of me producing the image: https://imgur.com/gallery/9uW1JNp
