Android 12 blocks access to apps for mute people and many others by forcing voice only search (which does not work so even if you can speak you still cannot access your apps)

The very idea of limiting access to voice only is discriminatory against people with disabilities.

My phone just updated to from 11 to 12. And now only 14 of the 67 apps are accessible. That is all that is shown on the screen when swiping up. Previously all the apps were there. Now only 14 show up. The other apps can still be seen in settings/apps.

The only way to access other apps is first you must go to setting/apps to get the name of the app you want (unless you already know it). Th...

Qualcomm has open sourced its aptX and aptX HD encoders, making them freely available to Android OEMs. Here's what that means.

I got so bogged down in details that I sat on this story for months, but in the interest of the community, I'd like to confirm that the encoders for Qualcomm's proprietary aptX and aptX HD Bluetooth codecs are now part of AOSP.

Here's what this means for Android 👇

A few months back, I spotted a patch submitted to AOSP by a Qcom engineer called "add encoder for aptX and encoder for aptX HD source code." aptX and aptX HD codecs are ...

Xiaomi 13 review for pedantic jerks

# Foreword

I’m a digital designer and I’m picky. When I spend a lot of money on something, I like to see a level of polish. If that doesn’t bother you, awesome. Stop reading. This review isn't for you.

I understand that a lot of my issues could be resolved with root, Magisk, or Xiaomi.eu but I’m not interested in that. I’m too old, and have too little free time to be chasing Safetynet and other issues that those solutions bring.

And no, my device isn’t faulty or one of a kind. I buy most smal...

PSA: How to disable cellular/mobile network via "Settings" for Pixel 6 series due to security vulnerability

This post pertains to a security vulnerability that could allow a remote attacker to compromise the Pixel 6 series of phones without the user being required to do anything (they just need to know your phone number, they can attempt the attack in a distributed manner against every phone number once they reverse engineer the patch and figure out how to exploit the vulnerability). The attacker would be able to exploit the phone silently in the background with currently no way to detect if you've be...

The Samsung Max VPN which comes with or is suggested for Samsung phone collects your IP address, URL's you visit and sells it third party companies. A VPN meant for privacy collects more data than some apps. (Privacy policy shared below)

Screenshot of the Privacy policy

Very weird that a VPN collects the sensitive data and then logs it and shares it with third party companies.

Not mention they also use facebook services and google ad services in the app.

Screenshot here

Also remember that the app is not a free vpn service it charges money....
