Android 14 is adding support for generating Material You dynamic themes that take into account higher contrast levels

In Android 14, Android's dynamic color engine ("monet") seems to be adding better support for users who need higher contrast between colors for improved visibility.

In Android 14, the system generates a new FRRO (Fabricated Runtime Resource Overlay) called "dynamic" that overlays several new R.color fields. You can see the mapping in this screenshot. The full list of new R.color fields can be seen here.

PSA: If you have a Verizon LG Velvet, don't do the Android 13 update, it will brick your phone.

A week ago LG and Verizon released update 16 which included Android 13. It was impressive that despite ending their mobile division 2 years ago and it being a 3 year old phone, LG has updated this phone from Android 10 all the way to 13.
