Uh oh, is this the end of the ride for YouTube Vanced?
this warning shows up on my 4 devices today
Sigh
I knew this day would come, I just...didn't want it to be this soon...
edit ReVanced is the spiritual successor that we could use going forward. It basically just patches an existing apk that's compatible, and it's up to the users to install should they wish, I guess this is how they're skirting around the implication?...

PSA: Firefox can handle pdf documents like your desktop browser
I've only used Android, and I love the os, especially compared to the competition (iOS). But one thing has been maddening since day one: if you click a pdf link it downloads it to your device and you have to open it with a dedicated pdf viewer.
Firefox has fixed that now. I clicked a pdf and it just... Opened. The way you'd expect it to, just like on desktop.
Apparently iOS does this too, a friend showed me something on her phone, in pdf form, and it was not downloaded, it just worked the norm...

I took these pictures two months apart, with the same phone, on a tripod, with the same exact camera settings, aspect ratio, resolution, iso and every other level all the exact same as well as ensuring that they were taken with the same lighting inside, everything else is controlled for to the extent that any reasonable person would say that these pictures were both taken in what can only be described as identical conditions. Unpopular Opinion: If you don't buy a device, you CANNOT provide an unbiased review
Tech YouTubers are basically high production budget ads at this point.
They receive all the top end devices for free and what they do is:
0) Clickbait noscript
1) Highlight how AMAZING 😍😱😍 it is, all its cool features and hypes it up.
2) Provide one or two "criticisms" - stuff like oh it's not dynamic refresh rate, it's constant 120hz or the back is gorilla glass 4 not gorilla glass 5.
3) Say how despite the one or two "criticisms" it's still a really good buy despite the $$$$$$ high price

Recommendations on Chargers & Cables for your Android Phones
Here are some things I have learned over the years, especially since fast and super fast charging have made an appearance. I'd like to share in hopes I can help some of you out there.
- there is a significant difference in charging speeds during super fast charging vs fast charging, although I only truly see that significant difference when the phone's battery is between 0-50% (in other words, it's most useful if you consistently see your battery on the low end of charge, and you need to get it...

Xiaomi doesn’t care about GPL licenses!
Xiaomi is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer. It sells affordable smartphones compared to its competitors. For this reason, many users prefer Xiaomi smartphones. However, we need to point out that the brand has some shortcomings. The most important of these is that it doesn’t care about GPL licenses. The kernel source of many Xiaomi smartphones has not yet been released.
I don’t know why no one has made content about it. This is quite important, kernel resources are required for developers to p...

Just a Reminder for People on Android 12+ - Check Your Third-Party Apps' Supported Links!
Ever since Android 12, all apps have their Supported Links disabled by default in favour of first-party App Links. That means an app can't open a link from a web browser by default unless the site it wants to open from approves it.
As an example, apps like your favourite Reddit client, or LibreTube and NewPipe, (maybe ReVanced? I don't know), will be affected.
To enable them, open your apps' App Info page, and check the "Open by default" opti...
