(Discussion) Should Google offer out Soli tech to other android manufacturers?
Wouldn't Google offering that tech to Samsung make it more popular and adopted by app devs? Plus they could make some money licensing it out?
Adoption is key, so wouldn't it make sense to offer it to their biggest, bestest friend, Samsung? That way app devs see it becoming more popular and more likely to consider taking advantage of its abilities?
I get they want exclusives to pixels and their devices, but I feel it would be better and long term beneficial to offer it up. To keep a fancy new t...

Pixel owners: Do not update to the May security patch
The May update has been a complete mess. Battery drain is off the charts and the phone bakes in your hand with how hot it gets. Camera starts to stutter and everything feels janky. Happened to my Pixel 7 and my wife's Pixel 6A.
Not sure what Google "fixed" with this update but it's been a disaster. It should be rolled back, but don't update if you can avoid it.
And it's not just me - see here and here...

The 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4g controller just got a firmware update which activates Bluetooth capabilities on Android/d-input
Originally you needed to use the USB dongle with an OTG adapter or buy the more expensive Ultimate Bluetooth model with Hall Effect sticks for $20 more to connect without wires.
I am very surprised that they just randomly pushed this update. Going to get a lot more use out of this controller now.
In my opinion this makes this a beast if you're only gaming on PC, android, or Raspberry Pi.
Plus it comes with a dock, which for this price range is unheard of....

SeatGeek: "Something went awry!" error
tl;dr - If you're rooted, temporarily disable ad blocking.
Hi. For awhile, I was having trouble logging into the SeatGeek app on my phone. After punching in the 2FA code, I'd get the "Something went awry!" error. I kept meaning to figure out what was going on. I finally did.
The problem, in my case at least, seems to be that SG expects to hit some endpoint somewhere, and if it can't, it errors out. In my case, my phone's rooted, and I use AdAway to block ads. This was apparently enough to make...
