I made a simple noscript to wirelessly backup your Android to your PC
This is a simple noscript that I made in order to always have my phone backed up. Yes, I know that there already exist some tools like Syncthing and similar noscripts, but I wanted something as simple as possible with minimal software required.
It uses rsync (from the MagiskSSH module), so no USB cable is needed.
If you are interested, you can see it here...

How to get around Android 11's folder access problems so you can edit a text file save it and then upload it to your web server.
How to upload to web server!
The solution relies on finding some Android programs that can both read and write to the download folder. The ones I found that will do this are total Commander and FTP Cafe.
Using Total Commander open a dummy text file or any text file in the download directory.
Select all text and delete it and then cut and paste what you want your text to be for the file you want to upload. Maybe some PHP code for example.
Use the save as function to rename the file to whateve...

Nexus 7 - half broken still amazing
I have an old Nexus 7. Still holds charge, it's just f*in amazing. Dropped it and the upper 10% of the screen does not react to touch. Until now I was just tilting the tablet to rotate the screen but today it just stopped, making it almost impossible to use.
Any smart tricks how to solve this? Can I somehow reduce screen size just like when tipynf one handed? Anything else?
What tablet comes close to this?...

Where to next after Reddit?
Hi all, let's get straight to the point...
With the number of 3rd party apps closing down over the next few weeks due to the Reddit API changes, it's not looking great for accessing/using Reddit on mobile (which for me is probably 90% of my Reddit usage).
So where to next? I've heard about Lemmy and the Fediverse etc but don't really understand how they work etc. What other options are there? Where are YOU going to be going if you're not using Reddit?
Of course this is the r/android subreddit...
